It should be obvious that young men should learn social skills if they don’t already have them. For some it comes naturally, for others they must be learned. Better a later start, than never. So if you don’t have them, here are some things that you might do.
First, watch people. Consider what successful people do. Consider what people on the other end want from you with respect to these skills. Learn some psychology. But only relevant psychology, not silly stuff that isn’t relevant. How do you tell? You can maybe the judge.
Second, practice. Go for simpler situations at firs. Don’t try to do too much. Critique your performance. But, don’t beat yourself up if things don’t go as well as desired. Go back again, but maybe not today.
Third, gain in confidence. Probably you will become more skilled, both with social skills and other things. This confidence will undoubtedly help in the future. It comes through. Of course, don’t be overconfident.
Fourth, be patient. For some, it may take a good while. That is, a life of continual improvement. Even if you do become skilled quickly, it is still a life of continual improvement.
