Young Men — Social Skills

It should be obvious that young men should learn social skills if they don’t already have them. For some it comes naturally, for others they must be learned. Better a later start, than never. So if you don’t have them, here are some things that you might do.

First, watch people. Consider what successful people do. Consider what people on the other end want from you with respect to these skills. Learn some psychology. But only relevant psychology, not silly stuff that isn’t relevant. How do you tell? You can maybe the judge.

Second, practice. Go for simpler situations at firs. Don’t try to do too much. Critique your performance. But, don’t beat yourself up if things don’t go as well as desired. Go back again, but maybe not today.

Third, gain in confidence. Probably you will become more skilled, both with social skills and other things. This confidence will undoubtedly help in the future. It comes through. Of course, don’t be overconfident.

Fourth, be patient. For some, it may take a good while. That is, a life of continual improvement. Even if you do become skilled quickly, it is still a life of continual improvement.

Exit question — How much are social skills worth?

How much are social skills worth?

    To whom?
In sales, they’re usually worth more than in engineering. If you’re going to take over the world and be an evil tyrant, your form of social influence may be fear based while others try to influence people by attraction or stroking their ego. Is ass-kissing a social skill, or just a beta behavior?

God doesn’t seem to value popularity, but tells us to treat others how we ourselves would want to be treated. However when I hold others to the same high standards that I hold myself, and I wish everybody held everybody else to, most folks, who are not like myself, don’t like it when I treat them as I’d want to be treated. Most people want to be allowed to go through life as a fool, instead of being swiftly corrected. I however prefer people to voice their disagreements and hash them out with me. Versus having some unspoken disagreement festering. If I’m being a fool, the quicker and more completely I get corrected, the better it is for myself and everybody else. I’m not sure why that truth isn’t comprehended by everybody?

I wonder if most people don’t have some form of social skills, and maybe the ones we think of as not having social skills, just have nonconforming social skills, or skills that don’t work well on most people. I’m part Germanic, and I seem to reach better understanding and mutual respect with other Germanic hard-heads. Some folks might think that us Germanic square heads lack social grace, but, according to my watch, it looks like it is about time we began taking over the world again. LOL Then y’all can have our superior German culture forced on you, and you can be made more efficient. Kapisch?

Lol…Germans. My observations there, and it was a different Germany when I lived there back in the mid 1980’s. Impeccable clean people…..as in hygene. Though the teenage German girls I went to Gymasium with didn’t shave under the pits or their legs (I think that practice has changed since then). At public swimming pools, every guy (yuoung or old) was wearing a speedo…..you could tell fellow Americans or Canadians abroad…we were in standard swim trunks…..”Spot the New Worlders!” lol!

Germans like to sunbathe nude as well in the backyards. That first time I came outside off the back patio seeing my German host-mother all sprawled out…….tuened ten shades red, apologized and darted back inside “Entschuldigung mutti!”

I picked up cigarette smoking there. Every German teen smoked, and like the USA back then…..the smoking age was 16. The drinking age was 16 as well, and that is where I first got “drunk”

Germans are not “funny” people. Their humor is terrible, funny once you ‘get it’ but its not like our Canadian cousins, or like our Mexican brothers south of the border, nor like our root culture from Great Britain…….German TV was really bad as I recall.

They worked though. German men worked hard. My German host father was an engineer with Hoesch Stahl (Hoesch Steel….now part of Thyssen-Krupp). My high school met six days a week……yeah uniforms (so German). I always laughed every morning as I put the school uniform on. You know….”germans and uniforms”

AS for social skills……….mine are quite poor, and I lack the biggest part of them…reading a room….the temperment, the mood…and it has caused me more embarassment over the decades and makes me much more awkward. I blame this on me not really having friends and a sick older brother that I had to care for. I come off as a creep to women to this day and nothing will fix it at this point, or age.

People generally have to be born with them…..after the age of 25 you really are not going to learn anything

Regarding the presidential race: I’ve given up on prognosticating politics this year. I was one of the guys in 2016 saying it would be a Hillary blowout. I was out there prominently and loudly saying Hillary would get 325 electoral votes, at least, and that Trump was toast. I was with just about everyone else saying Trump had virtually no chance of winning.

So I was one of the guys on Election night 2016 watching them call Florida for Trump. Then NC. Then PA, OH and MI. And going “holy motherfucking shit, he’s actually going to win. I can’t believe it. Did. Not. See. That. Coming.” And watching Rachel Maddow and the MSNBC people lose their shit in real time. (That part was deeeLICIOUS.)

And I have a degree in political science. I understand studies, polling, surveying, political trends, and politics. I am a political news junkie. I have followed this shit for well over 25 years. And neither I nor any of us other armchair pundits saw this, like, at all.

So your guess is as good as mine. I want to believe the RCP polling saying Biden’s up by anywhere from 3 to 7 points nationwide, and that Trump cannot carry the states he carried in 2016. But I can’t believe it, because everyone, including me, was saying Queen Hillary had it all sewn up.

    Regarding social skills:

They are EXTREMELY important, especially if you want to succeed in most professions, want friends, or want any kind of sexual relationship.

And you can learn them. Don’t trust anyone who says you cannot learn them or it’s impossible to learn them. You can even if you get a late start. I didn’t start really understanding social dynamics, like, at all, until my early 40s. I had to learn social skills as a newly red pilled guy… at age 42.

At DC Comics, Batgirl now lectures Batman — who just lost 96% of his money, and has to scrimp and budget to fight crime — that he’s too selfish and not sufficiently opposed to the great evil of gentrification and that he should give some of his last remaining funds to fight gentrification

Just like Hellcat lectured Iron Man — ungreat minds think even more alike than great minds do
This “fight gentrification” thing is big in #Woke comics, because superheroes can no longer fight crime. Fighting crime is racist. Fighting gentrification is #Woke.

By the way, Batgirl literally joins antifa in this issue.
Also by the way: SJWs are narcissistic sociopathic villains themselves, and they always write their “heroes” to be narcissistic sociopathic villains. Because they’re narcissists — they think that being a narcissistic sociopathic villain must be “cool.” So, if you buy Batgirl for your daughter or niece, you’re buying her propaganda that teachers her to be a narcissistic sociopathic villain.

I’m rather (English understatement) flabbergasted to see that despite being in power for four years, GEOTUS Donald is now part of an election that appears capable of shaming a fucking banana republic. WTF is the swamp draining not reaching completion by now? Was he sitting on his arse monitoring the fucking situation all this time? Where were the trials and executions? Voter fraud, ballot papers sent willy-nilly, Trump votes found in a ditch WTFF?

But before people get the hump about that criticism, I’m fucking outraged that ‘my’ PM BloJo hasn’t just walked away from the EU negotiations.

The parlous state of western politics is a complete fucking outrage. The global swamp should have been drained, torched and salted by now, all over the western world.

And the worst thing is that The Donald is still the only hope of getting anything done. If Biden wins (not blaming the US, you elect who you want), you can forget BloJo doing anything except capitulate to the euro thug throbbers.

Kind of interesting to me the psychology behind the way the media brainwashes a good portion of the public via eliminating context, and then slow-leaking information. So by the time the truth comes out, it doesn’t matter.
The best example (prior to now) I can think of was the Trayvon Martin shooting by Zimmerman. If the information had come out immediately that a six foot tall thug, in a bad neighborhood, had jumped Zimmerman and beat his head into the concrete while he was screaming for help and then he shot him….it would have made a different impression.

Everyone knows the truth now, but it matters little to the people who were taken in at the beginning with the story about a little boy carrying a bag of skittles was shot in cold blood by a man in a gated, “white” community.

So too the knowledge now that Trump was illegally spied on along with his family and all his associates. They spent so much time laughing at him and calling him a liar that by the time the real information came out no one even blinked. “Yeah whatever”
    Human psychology is weird.

Trump has to deal with an establishment that has taken out a president before. Nixon was taken out with the media, and Reagan got shot and then realized he better fall in line. There have been attempts on Trump, and yet he keeps fighting.

The vast majority of the lawyers, bureaucrats, and politicians; the entire media and education complexes; and half the population is bitterly opposed to him doing anything that benefits Heritage America. He is fighting a cold civil war that is rapidly going hot, and he controls the military and paramilitary forces. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither Augustus nor Constantine were able to clean out Rome in a day. When it did happen, it tended to be bloody.

If you think Trump, BoJo, or anyone else are going to solve this outside a civil war, you were dreaming. This insanity has gone on too far, and for too long. If we are lucky, we will be blessed with an Augustus or a Constantine. If not, we get a Stalin or a Cromwell and millions die to halt this madness. If we are truly unfortunate, then we will end up like the Old Testament, survivors of the Bronze Age Collapse, barbarians wandering in the ruins of civilization and trying to rebuild.

Without pointing fingers at anyone in particular, I would venture that a lot of men in the manosphere are on the spectrum somewhere. There’s a reason why a lot of guys didn’t “get it”, and difficulty with social cues is one reason. That can have an organic basis like ASD.

Another huge reason is poor socialization of men and there are a lot of reasons for that. First, parents on the spectrum. Second, parents who themselves are poorly socialized. Third, parents who are mentally ill. Fourth, sons of single mothers and who have poor to nonexistent relationships with their fathers or any other positive male role models. Fifth, “oversocialization” of boys in churches and schools. Boys being taught, corrected, shaped, and led mostly by adult women. Women treating boys as, and socializing them as, “defective” girls or “girls with penises”.

Trump is going to win this one because the democrats are trying to pull last minute fraud. That isn’t the position of of someone strong. Neither is having to change your schedule to campaign in what should be strongholds. When democrat-leaning states are the battlefront, that is the beginning of the end. If you have to fight on your own territory you are in deep shit.

Ton, I dont know how you figure Trump lost all those white voters. Polls? I trust the polls as much as I trust the people polling, which is not at all. Sure, they might say they are voting Biden, but that doesn’t track with the results we are seeing in early voting. Or, as you mention, crowd size. It does track with white people not wanting to be beaten and burned out of their home lying to pollsters, though.

If this weren’t Trump’s election, then the democrats wouldn’t be gearing up for civil war. They aren’t acting like they think they can cheat the election. They are acting like they are going to have to steal it by force. When you can’t even cheat to win, that isn’t a close race, its a blowout.

Even if am “mildly autistic” at this point in my life……..some shrink, tons of overpriced and useless therapy and fist-full of pills are going to “fix” it? Doubtful. Ah yes, a woman who is 30, 42, 48 or whatever I am sure in her dating profile would love to date a man with these “wonderful” characteristics (sarcasm)

The “counseling” field today is a racket on the level of Amway Sales. I trust shrinks, therapists, and psychologists about as much as I do a pastor, or a politician. They earned that reputation without me ever gracing their offices.

My situation at this point (age 50) is: wrong place, wrong time….unfortunate genetics……and just a low IQ. Not fair. Not right. Not cool……but what can I do about it at this point?

    learn “game” ????? lol

I am not going to puff myself up and state “well, women missed out with a guy like me” (they really didn’t). Nor will I blame them for my misfortune. I will lay some legitimate criticism at the feet of “red pilled men” who loved watching me fail with their foolproof advice…..but in the end, its just genetics. Being “ruled’ and ‘deemed’ that you are unfit to date and the like, nor father children because I couldn’t make a woman wet herself within three seconds of meeting me is a bad deal……..but really what can I do now at fifty? Really nothing.

I know, many here will say they know plenty of men who are fifty, sixty-five and eighty who are dating 23 years olds……but even if that is true. It’s a rare exception.

I do know if I had more friends when younger or had more of a social life, or didn’t grow up in the real “middle of nowhere” New York State….things probably would have been a bit more slanted to at least having some sort of more normal life in those matters.

I’ll never know, and its a question of not even pondering on…..or if I do…….well, its not too long.

Well – for one last time. I think the democrats underestimated Trump in 2016. I think they will not underestimate him this time. I don’t think Trump will loose. I think the democrats will see to it that he doesn’t win. I think they will muddy the voting enough that they can then pull the rabbit of a “win” out of the hat. Not a legitimate win, but nobody will be able to prove that it is not legitimate. Who knows what democrat “ballots” lie about, waiting to be summoned when needed. I think the democrats have a much better handle on that fraudulent process than the republicans do.

At any rate, I don’t anticipate an answer to the question “who won?” for some time after the 3rd. Maybe not until the Electoral College delivers its results to Congress.

Ten thousand times NO! That ship has sailed. His field doesn’t require “excellent verbal and communication skills” (that’s HR and female traits according to the sphere). It requires “does the code work / has ‘general availibilty’ (GA) been met / is it ready for Beta testing / has a prototype been built and when.

Hard demonstratable skills with clear metrics is required. Hence why many men still go into this field. They were already shut-out

His surviving attacker, who had a prior misdemeanor conviction for carrying a pistol while intoxicated, and who stated he regretted not having been able to kill Kyle, has not been charged with anything. BLM/Antifa is the militia of the hard left pols who control blue areas; they provide deniability (they aren’t the police or actually in the employ of the state) while busting up or killing anyone opposed to hard left rulers.

Should that happen look for the left to immediately ramp up their assassination attempts. Purely hypothetical situation.

Say some knucklehead wanders onto a property where he doesn’t belong. Lets say he was apprehended by the landowner and some friends.

Maybe the next morning he was found without clothes duct-taped to a telephone pole, on the outskirts of town, to be found by all passers by.

Maybe a couple feet off the ground with said knucklehead in a loving embrace of said telephone pole, insuring his junk is well and fully engaged with the wood. This would work for the blue haired freaks as well, just ensure their knockers are on either side of said pole. Though of course be sure to lift with your legs.

Extra points if all his body is covered in tape so when he’s removed from his predicament he looks like a hairless cat…

Purely hypothetical situation of course. I would never dream of doing some like this to my fellow man. But I would think it would discourage others from being as stupid…

Bloom, using Ton as an example of “legal but effective psyops” is not the best choice ever. “Illegal and effective,” sure. But we have to wait. Might want to make sure those friends of yours are on alert Nov. 3-4 and maybe consider ways to restrict transit in and out. Totally theoretical and not advice at all, but have plans to block roads with trees and brush. Manned roadblocks mean the fucking yahoos are going to have a real hard time getting in. It keeps the outsiders from causing trouble, if where you live is small enough. Like I said, don’t go doing it, just have it in mind.

tsk said: Just be ready election night.

At the link, scroll down to the heading, “The Reality of the Electoral College”. Start reading at the paragraph above this heading.

    https://watchingromeburn.uk/news/trumps-64-day-post-election-endgame-or-can-a-criminal-be-inaugurated-president/

I think the scenario painted there is wishful thinking. But this reading gives a good survey of the dates, and processes, involved in getting the final voting talley from the Electoral College to Congress by January 6. Note that any State may prohibit its Electors from certifying that State’s voting results to the Congress on January 6.

Should that failure to certify happen, all of the Electors for that State are freed to vote for the opposite candidate, or a third-party candidate. Should this process be invoked, it could serve to benefit either Biden or Trump.

It is for this reason that I’ve said elsewhere that I don’t think Trump will lose. But it is demonstrably possible for the Democrates to make certain that he doesn’t win. Adding fraudulant ballots after November 3rd in those states who allow ballots to continue to come in after Nov. 3 will muddy the waters so far as the tally of total votes is concerned. But the Dems can potentially persuade never-Trump Republican governors to direct their State’s Electors to object on January 6, and thereby throw that State’s Republican Electors over to Biden.

I think we will need to be ready well past election night. What the article makes clear, that I summarized above, is that we cannot be certain of a Trump win even if he gets many more than the bare minimum of Electoral College votes needed to win. Because, up until Jan 7, those Electoral College votes can be changed by the decree of a State’s governor. It has never been done before. But the U.S. Constitution allows for this to happen. If it can be done, I’m certain the Democrats will find a way to do it.

Just to be clear – if the State objection happens in Congress on January 6, the Electors are simply removed from the total tally. They may not be switched to the other candidate. This removal of Electors could move a candidates total tally of Electors to below the minimum needed to win. Which would throw the selection process for President and Vice President into the House and Senate respectively.
