Women And Celebrities

We have this cringefest.  Women seem to fall for this way more than fellas.  My ex really thought celebrities who spouted off virtue signaling were just awesome.  Moral paragons even.  Even in my blue-pill days, I knew enough to giggle at this.  Naturally enough, she was not amused.

Let us consider the fellas.  A comparable situation might be in terms of sports stars.  Do guys normally view them as anything other than as sports stars?  Guys might be really into sports, but they are still just sports stars.

Perhaps it is just a herd thing, with celebrities (especially women) being the herd leaders.  Why would celebrities be the herd leaders?  Because it just feels right.

Are there other reasons?  Perhaps women just don’t aways think things through.  Though this is maybe the flip side of herd following.  Does anybody have other ideas?

Exit question — Is there safety in the herd?

I remember when the actress who played bella in twilight “cheated” on the guy who played the gay sparkling vampire and thousands of girls were crying about it on social media.
They really believed this actress was bella from the book.
A good portion of society is made of mental cases just looking for a trigger.

Ever since Eden it’s always Eve who gets deceived. Say the right platitude, with just a little acting and a sniffle, and you’re in like Flynn. Tell the ugly truth straight up and you had better be strong enough to put down a challenge from the herd “leader”.

Concur with Ton; there’s a reason that the Bible uses the term “pastor” for church leadership; it’s literally a shepherd, one who leads and protects the herd.

Doesn’t matter if its a herd or a pack or a human family

Pastors are pussies who went to college. And like most college educated pussies, they are basically useless

“Perhaps women just don’t always think”

That is sufficient. God designed them, so I should not criticize. But women regularly make their decisions based on emotions, especially fear; detailed thinking is not done.
They are capable of intelligence… they merely do not use the ability in an emotionally-charged setting.

They are different than men; same as men are different than God.

A code enforcement officer in Aurora, Ontario, Canada, issued a woman a fine of $880 (about $650 U.S.) for “standing too long” in a park under emergency coronavirus restrictions. The woman, identified by local media only as Roxana, says she was pushing a stroller and walking her dog when she stopped to let a group pass on the trail she was walking on then answered a text before resuming her walk. That’s when a code enforcement officer confronted her and told her she’d been standing for two minutes.

Two Minute Hate now official policy up North.

Unfortunately the politburo of China already knows it far better than tne femno-communist chumps of the West. Zealandia will be the most coveted part of planet Earth some day.

(Ignore the accent, an indian report.)

Remember China buys more U.S. Treasuries than the rest of the world combined.

The fed can print treasuries but someone outside the U.S. has to buy them to keep the value up. If no one buys the Fed buys them but now you have two dollars for every dollar there was before resulting in inflation.

    Is Revenue Neutral?

Know the difference (inflation adjusted) between 2010 and 2020 in the Horseman family income?

    NOT A FUCKING CENT!

Because Mrs. never worked and so we had no childcare etc costs.

Over the years I did the math for many of my nurses making 50k with a toddler and a 8 year old.

    Taxes at 30% 15k.
Daycare for under 5 90/day (city of toronto rates) 23k
Before/after school grade 1-6 35/day (city of toronto rates) 9k
2nd car payment 200/month (used) plus gas 4k

Just that you are at 51k or break even.
    Plus incidentals, starbucks, scrubs, lunches

Plus all the non economic issues like family bonding, communicating, less hurried life.

I wonder how many career women will internally have the Epifany, I don’t want/have to juggle a job and motherhood.

Then again reconciling that realization with the you go girl guilt will make their heads explode.

Then again it does require a husband to make it work.

How many single moms once things reopen will be angry/jealous at how many of their coworkers opted out and they are stuck..

Just for before and after care, until the kids are 12 and can look after themselves 2 kids cost you minimum 18k net and 25k gross right off the top of your income. For 12 YEARS.

So a 50k nurse who choses to work is really a 25k nurse or 13.30 an hour (our minimum wage is 15/hour)

Oh and take off the 11k personal tax exemption worth 3,300 in after tax income that hubby could have claimed for wife as dependent and you are down to 21,700 or 11.50 an hour.

Yup. Working moms contribute So Much to our families.

I don’t reload mass quanities of any caliber. It’s a time thing mostly .. especially when a quick 3 minute order ships directly to my home in less than 2 days.

    Some basic math on Covid.

300,000 cases, not deaths, and 33,000,000 unemployed.

So 100 people gave up their jobs, half permanently, for every person infected.

300,000 cases in 6 months. So 1 in 1,100 people got infected so far.

Social distancing, etc slows it but this is not the fastest moving disease ever.

  52. horsemanbombadil says:

More math but it adds perspective

    From https://www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/toronto/article-her-husband-was-killed-by-a-distracted-driver-she-never-recovered/

“Statistics from the National Collision Database indicate that the number of crashes in Canada related to all forms of distraction has risen from around 55,000 in 1998 to nearly 85,000 in 2017, the last year of available data. According to Transport Canada, the proportion of fatal collisions involving distraction has also increased, rising from 14 per cent in 2004 to 23 per cent in 2017.”

    So 23% of 85,000 is 20,000.
20,000 deaths annually and the response is those little bumper stickers saying don’t text and drive.

Also from the Globes ongoing covid counter
Coronavirus has led to at least 107,125 cases, 70,901 recoveries and 8,759 deaths reported in Canada so far.

So covid deaths for 6 months, double it for a year 17,518.

    LESS THAN DISTRACTED DRIVING DEATHS!!

Why I cannot take the doom seriously.
