Ripe For The Taking

I have run across recently several older women who were either divorced/widowed in middle age.  A man comes along, one that talks sweet enough.  They marry soon.  The fella sticks around as long as her assets last.  Then he is gone.

From what I have seen, the man doesn’t even need to be particularly skilled at the wiles with respect to the opposite sex.  This seems to be telling.  I am not totally sure of what though. Perhaps it is that many women in that state are desperate for men, and will take most anything that appears to be acceptable that comes along.  Perhaps they, at least implicitly, understand their Marriage Market Value, and realize that a prince is not on his way.  Maybe getting fixes of being wooed and seemingly desired is enough to make their common sense disappear.  Perhaps they are just naive, though I am thinking that most middle age women are not so naive.

This does seem to be a somewhat common occurrence, so I am thinking that there is something there.  The question is: what?

  1. The older women (including a couple of relatives) I know who are well fixed for funds never re-marry, but often have long-time beaus to keep company with who are also well off financially. They’ll have nothing to do with anyone worth less than a solid 7 figures (net).

We have the idea that most women marry on hypergamous “love” (AF), or else, for access to resources and security (BB). But this post points out that there are some women who are blessed with resources and security, yet they still find something important is missing from their lives, namely a man. With material resources now secured, obtaining that missing piece – the hypergamous “love” experience – then takes precedence. Lacking a sufficient SMV to satisfy this desire, these women will often settle for an equal “like” relationship. For some never-marrieds, the affirmation of marriage is an integral part of this desire. For others who are older and more “experienced”, marriage is out of the question, because they don’t want to share, they don’t want to submit, they don’t want to trust, they simply want to remain in control of their security and resources, and enjoy life as much as they can.

How difficult it is for the rich to enter the Kingdom of God!

The women that I have seen being taken advantage of were not particularly wealthy. Perhaps this makes it so that they are “less on guard” than wealthier women.

Now .. if I was a man-whore this would be a great time to be alive. Since I am not .. it’s just amusing.

DES MOINES, Iowa — The remains of a Marine from Iowa will soon return to his home state 76 years after his death in World War II.

The Defense Department used DNA from a niece to identify the remains of 18-year-old Pvt. Channing Whitaker, of Granger, Iowa. Whitaker died on Nov. 22, 1943, during the Battle of Tarawa in the Gilbert Islands in the South Pacific.

Whitaker’s niece Marla Brubaker tells KCCI it is a miracle that her DNA was able to identify Whitaker’s remains.

Archeologists have been working since 2009 to dig up and identify the remains of soldiers who were buried in a previously undiscovered burial trench on the Gilbert Islands.

Whitaker’s family will hold a funeral with full military honors in Des Moines on Nov. 22.

SCOTUS denied Remington Arms appeal with #SandyHook families.

That does NOT mean #SCOTUS agrees with any gun control.

It means SCOTUS believes Congress cant shield corporations from lawsuits involving their products.

It means that SCOTUS, at least THIS SCOTUS believes juries should decide legal issues, not members of Congress.

Now will SCOTUS extend that to ALL corps? #Monsanto?

It will now be up to the people to decide how much Liberty they want instead of Congress deciding how much Liberty we can have.

They wish to be desired, Bob from the car wash desires her and he’s not too fat, we’ve got something to work with here. Not being desired is a kind of death.

To be a little less glib, if we look at cinematic heroes and heroines, it’s quite socially acceptable to be a lonely, singular man — and he is often very attractive. It is not popularly accepted to be the same, as female. There are no movies where a woman says, “Get off my lawn.”

For American schools, the sole purpose of turning ‘diversity’ into a crowning educational asset has been to disguise the affirmative action that these same universities once openly pursued and now can legally enforce only by calling the practice something else. Fifty years ago, the notion took hold in the US that racial equality would never evolve naturally, but had to be socially engineered by giving historically disadvantaged groups an active leg up, especially in higher education.
