Red Pill Movie Review — Captive State

I know that this is the third movie review within a three week period.  This is just a co-incidence.  I have no desire to make this into a movie review site.

Here is an introduction,

This is a bit of a thriller, with lots of suspense and perhaps a too complicated plot.  The special effects are minimal.  The action is not that extensive.  Most of the good guys die.  Perhaps it is not the feel-good movie that people are want to see.  Not all movies should be feel-good, but that is apparently what people want, as the theater was mostly empty.

Space aliens come to Earth, demand that we surrender, which we promptly do.  Naturally enough, they a big ugly insect type things.

The insects set up a worldwide government with them in charge.  It seems that their goal is mining for materials.  There are lots of humans working for them.   Furthermore, there are lots of collaborators.  There is much fuss about how the new world order has brought peace and prosperity, through central planning and control (and a super-surveillance statebof course).  All sorts of great sound statistics spew forth describing the improved new situation.

But some don’t like it.  They are planning a rebellion.  Without spoiling the plot, there are many twists and turns, all maintained under almost constant for the duration of the movie.  The characters had reasonable development, with the final fleshing out of some mysterious aspects left till the end.

I noticed that many professional type reviewers didn’t like it.  That is normally a sign that perhaps there is something here that I might find enjoyable.  In this case, the answer for me was a definitive yes.  As to why these reviewers didn’t like it, perhaps they were cheering for the insectoid government and its central control with perceived prosperity (and embarrassed in doing so).  I myself, couldn’t help but compare the rebels to Europeans trying to throw off the yoke of the EU.  Who knows, perhaps the reviewers made the same assessment.

Short answer — this flick was enjoyable.  It was a good thriller with real freedom fighters and no SJW added

Probably…those types would certainly root for any type of fascist oppression from evil insect overlords if it means they get their bread and circuses or they get special treatment from the insects by being their mouthpieces.

I’m north and a bit east of the river so we’re not getting flooded too badly. But because the ground is still frozen to five or six feet, it’s very, very sloppy and the lake is two feet above the spillway. So nothing like the Tyndall disaster.

A friendly policeman pulled me over Friday and I immediately pulled onto the shoulder — and immediately got stuck, as well as stuck with a ticket. The ground has the texture of tomato soup.

I just thought it was telling that the strategic command is under water and national media are writing stories about how Trump et al are responsible for the NZ shooting, being white supremecists, and the like.

CNN/the left wants you to know that Trump did not sufficiently denounce white supremacy following the horrible massacre in New Zealand. I can’t imagine a group of people more ill-suited to address “white supremacy” than the band of jokers who have reduced every person in America to their color, gender, and sexual preference while elevating victimhood to the highest virtue. What did they think was going to happen when they insist people are identified primarily by their attributes?

Another point with respect to Captive State was that there was a World Government. Of course it was oppressive. Perhaps professional reviewer realize that for a World Government to exist, it would need to be that way.

No less an authority than feminist author Amanda Marcotte has claimed that understanding “GamerGate” is crucial to explaining how Donald Trump was elected president and, while my views are diametrically opposed to Marcotte’s, I cannot deny the possibility she is correct about this, although perhaps not in the way she intends. What happened in “GamerGate,” from my perspective, is that the Left exploited the political prejudices of liberal journalists in order to redefine disagreement as “hate,” and to prohibit criticism as “harassment.” In the three years since I was banned from Twitter, the use of these tactics to silence conservative voices online — to “de-platform” and “de-monetize” the Left’s opponents — has escalated to the point that some have suggested anti-trust regulation be invoked against companies like Twitter, Facebook and Google. Beyond the First Amendment issues concerning online free speech, however, the Left’s increasingly common tactic of smearing their enemies with the “hate” label has important ramifications for every sphere of public-policy debate.

Leftie politicians rarely surprise me. This surprised me. Alinsky is perhaps the most influential, hard-left socialist (commie, really) intellectual of the past 40 years. Hillary wrote her undergrad thesis on him and Obama scripted his “activism” directly from his script.

So Bobbie the Beta O’Rourke hired this charming woman as his economics adviser. She considers Alinsky a patriarchal moderate. This woman is a hard-core Stalinist, steering a know-nothing who married into a billionaire family. BTW, how would you like to look at that face over dinner for the rest of your life?

Last comment and I’ll get off the radio. I don’t think these hacks are particularly sincere; it’s the inverse of how Hillary ran (she feigns centrism but plans to drive her Alinskyite shiv into the country once she holds power). These people are yelling about unversal income, white supremecists, Western Civ is a social construction, men with dicks are women, abridging the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th Amendments, open borders, free everything, no Electoral College, all men are rapists and on and on — but they’ll have to moderate if one of them survives the cattle stampede — thus enraging their pea-brained supporters.

So I don’t think these socialist, totalitarian costume-players see any of these issues as being existential in import. Their objective is just raw power, not an ideological transformation. They just want to wedge themselves into the government by harvesting the tiny little blue dots in their Clinton archipelago. ( http://paradigmsanddemographics.blogspot.com/2017/03/map-of-clinton-archipelago-versus.html )

But to libertarians and conservatives? Ban and seize guns? Wipe out the Electoral College? Kill free speech and religious liberty? Redefine biology? These are truly existential matters to us.

    ***

BTW, Beta claimed that he outraised Bernie Sanders in his first 24 hours of running. However, he lied about it: he merely recaptured $4.5mm of sequestered money he raised in the failed fall campaign, and raised a modest $1.5mm.

James Gunn has certainly been on a roller coaster of a ride with Disney and his role on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. First, he was fired after controversial tweets from his past surfaced. Then, Disney wouldn’t hire him back despite an outcry, including from the stars of the films. Then, Gunn’s script was going to be used despite his dismissal. And now, Gunn has been hired back to his former role on the movie.

Shockingly, Disney has changed its tune about Gunn, according to Deadline. He will both write and direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which currently does not have a release date. Gunn has subsequently confirmed the news himself. …

Back in July 2018, Gunn was fired by Disney when controversial tweets, from many years prior, resurfaced where Gunn made joked about pedophilia and rape. Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn said, “The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James’ Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio’s values, and we have severed our business relationship with him.”

So jokes about pedophilia and child rape are now consistent with Disney’s (public) values? Huh, that didn’t take long.

Given all of this, we should be inclined to ask — which of these two competing systems of economic arrangement actually requires some sort of redemption?

On the one hand, the system of free market exchanges which could lead to the “concentration of capital” among individuals while they seek “profit” has led to the greatest advancement of human well-being in the history of mankind. On the other, the very opposite principle, i.e., the concentration of government power to coercively chase some utopian vision of equality in economic outcomes, has unquestionably led to over 100 million deaths in the twentieth century alone, and all at the hands of socialist dictatorships which used this same indictment of the evils of capitalism as their guiding principle

At Stanford, she said, she saw students rely on their parents to set up play dates with people in their dorm or complain to their child’s employers when an internship didn’t lead to a job. The root cause, she said, was parents who had never let their children make mistakes or face challenges.

Fingerprint and Face ID security (passwords) screens appear to be less secure from the Feds than old-fashioned alphanumeric strings. They, apparently, can force you to look at or touch your phone, unlocking it for them.

And Google might as well locate their servers in the basement of the FBI.

According to LBC the EU has said they won’t agree to an extension beyond 22nd May or much longer so we will have EU elections – but Treason is actually incapable of having more than one plan at a time and so will be flummoxed. The decision from the EU is not expected until Monday and a new law has to be introduced to alter the date of Leaving before 29th March which is 4 days after the EU makes their decision which won’t be to agree to what May wants because they will not want to look like they are being ordered about by UK. EU has already told all EU citizens to prepare for a No Deal Brexit. Treason has not told the country anything other than we don’t know what is going to happen. We may Leave on 29th march by ‘accident’ because there never has been an alternative plan and Treason and the Tories are all doing their best not to have a General Election – Liebore also seem reluctant to have a General Election which seems to prove they actually know that UKIP and the new parties will do very well indeed – the problem with Establishment plans is they never take into account the possibility that something unforeseen will happen and that it usually does because of human nature….

The EU and European member states are discovering why Brits are different to them and how UK Law creates different citizens and attitudes. Our rule of law mystifies them because Europeans are used to law being imposed and their countries and especially the EU institutions are effectively dictatorships.

Us Brits are not used to this (despite recent years experience of our Parliament) and we cannot easily be pushed around. What must mystify the Europeans and the EU even more is how our Parliament is able to control a Prime Minister.

I reckon they are now thinking that trying to browbeat us isn’t going to work and that we are just too much trouble. WTO more likely now, imo.

The referendum resulted in 51.9% of voters being in favour of leaving the EU.”

    https://theothermccain.com/2019/03/20/marianne2020-lets-make-this-happen/

Hoping to bring “a massive infusion of love” into the country’s politics, Democratic presidential candidate Marianne Williamson held town halls in two area communities Sunday.
Roughly 60 people filled Keene State College’s student center for the late-afternoon event, which was sponsored by the Campus American Democracy Project. Williamson also stopped by the Hancock Town Library earlier Sunday and spoke to a similarly sized crowd. . . .
[M]uch of Williamson’s stump speech at Keene State centered on how to “wage peace” and ensure the country’s international and domestic policies are morally sound.
She offered four steps in a quick how-to guide to world peace: expand economic opportunities for women around the world; expand educational opportunities for children globally; reduce violence against women; improve unnecessary human suffering wherever possible.
“But as we know, doing those things does not produce corporate profits,” she said.
The U.S. needs an integrative model of politics that considers how hope, despair and love operate, she said. “We need a massive infusion of love for our children, a massive infusion of love for each other, a massive infusion of love for the rest of the people in this world, which is the only way we will survive the next century.”
    The Concord (N.H.) Monitor reports:
Author Marianne Williamson built her career providing guidance on relationships, health and work to Americans through her writing, which caught the attention of celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, who calls her a “spiritual guru.”
Now, she’s hoping to apply that same knowledge in her campaign for president.
“Whether you are healing a life, or healing a nation, the same spiritual and moral and psychological principles prevail,” Williamson said, speaking to a crowd of about 50 people at New England College in Henniker on Tuesday. “All a nation is, is a group of people.”

And I was really hoping it was Dawn Wells…

May 2nd is the date of a lot of council elections across the country (so, not MPs but a huge message to the MPs).

The Conservative Central HQ (CCHQ) has a lot of power over the local associations…but the associations are sick of parachuted in MP candidates and their actions.

the NCAA announced Monday the launch of an investigation into why it wasn’t making millions off of the recent college admissions controversy. “After the disturbing revelations that massive bribes were being paid out to people other than us, we’re launching an immediate inquiry into how we possibly missed out on this,” said NCAA president Mark Emmert, who claimed it was a “total failure of the system” that they were not raking in cash from wealthy celebrities when universities like Stanford, Yale, and USC were. “As an organization that always strives to squeeze money out of college athletics, I’m disgusted that this all went on right under our noses without us getting so much as a taste.

The NCAA is the modern plantation system that antebellum Southerners wished they’d had.
