The present day thought for many (such as on college campuses) is that consent should be specific and written. One wonders if people have thought this through.
So we have some coeds making out, continually escalating, when he pulls out a form for her to sign. This would break the building crescendo, to both their disappointments. Furthermore, it is emasculating, ratcheting down her desire for him. So the question is, will this happen?
Often it will not. Both are operating in the heat of the moment, with little thought beyond the next few hours. Then, for her the regret might set in. As we saw in the last post, this is a very real possibility.
But there was not a signed form. If there is not a signed form, then it was not consensual, or so it will be said. This puts a fella in a lose-lose situation. Either he disrupts the process, possibly destroying the moment; or he risks being an ex-post-facto rapist.
So young men, be careful out there.
If a judge can nuke a pre-nup…why wouldn’t they be able to nuke a signed consent form.
She signed under duress or some other made up nonsense…we just live in an age of insanity.

I am not sure what the answer is here. It is all in her head, and to communicate her intentions flies in the face of plausible deniability. When Moses wrote his code, women were responsible to call out for help if they were within earshot of help. Not that long ago, corroboration was required at trial. Finally, the whole purpose of enhancing the crime over that of assault and battery was to further discourage the possibility of bringing unwanted children into the world. That has been addressed.

seriously … this is really crazy.
gotta wonder where this is all going to end. it’s like an active volcano just hovering on the verge of erupting and spewing deadly lava all over the place.
just read an interesting novel set in the late 1700’s / early 1800’s poland based on an actual diary of a woman in the lower aristocracy. as it is written, there’s nothing new under the sun … slutty women are gonna be slutty women. it accurately described a woman without constraint aging into her 30’s and 40’s and finding herself alone (the diary author’s cousin – a comment by the book author was made that he was surprised the diary wasn’t made public except for the entries describing this woman’s numerous trysts). the need for the protection of men over women and children was well established.
the technology age we live in has changed a lot of things, but it hasn’t changed human nature … or the roles of men and women as defined by the Creator … or the need for women to be under the authority of men … or the reality that when we blatantly defy how we were created, everything goes bad-crazy.

Not only would that be too weird, pull out contracts and forms, but also what happens to it after? Do you make multiple copies so everyone has one? Do you need one for each and every future encounter or is it a one time thing? Would you keep it on file? Maybe people could later leaf thru them and relive the moments? Or would you need another consent form to do so? 😉
It is so ludicrous it would be funny if it wasn’t such a sad reflection of the state of the union today.

Is there an official form? A boiler plate, so to speak? Or do you just write up your own version? Would a handwritten one count? Would it have checkboxes maybe? This is OK, this is not, this is negotiable… How do you prove later who really signed? Would notaries be needed? I mean I am not a lawyer by any means, but there seems to be a lot undefined about this official document defining consent.

Would your very first consent form be extra special? Would it be wrong to frame it? Would it become some new right of passage? Would people someday compare consent form stacks? Is there a business opportunity to create the official consent form database, convienently stored forever in the cloud?

What if someone started using consent forms to blackmail people? Pay up or I am going to show this to everyone? Send it to your mom?

Maybe the govt. could create a whole new beuracracy for storing and maintaining the official consent database? Jobs! Imagine how many consent forms there would be to process on a daily basis!?! Would you file that locally? State level? Nationally? Pay a small filing fee? Could the program fund itself, with the most sexually active paying more while the celibate pay nothing, or would it be more fair to spread it out equally via taxes? Would the forms become ever more complex, and be needed for more and more types of “acts” as a way to justify growing the dept?

Now when he has nothing to lose and sets a lawyer on the accusers….
The one was not under age, she had the date wrong by a year and
The other, the friend who drove her to Browns said he never did, she physically wasdnt there!
So Brown is bacvk rerunning for PC leader and says if the party wont recognize him then he will run as an independent.
Oh and the CTV reporter that broke the story…roommaste of one of the accusers!

Feel free to question Abramson’s timing and her subjectivity. Indeed, Abramson admits she is targeting Thomas again solely because the timing is proper, and the target high-value. She writes:
“Thomas, as a crucial vote on the Supreme Court, holds incredible power over women’s rights, workplace, reproductive, and otherwise. His worldview, with its consistent objectification of women, is the one that’s shaping the contours of what’s possible for women in America today, more than that of just about any man alive, save for his fellow justices.”
His worldview, of course, is that life and rights begin at conception, and that equal protection necessarily frowns upon laws based on gender. Abramson equates these views with dehumanization of women, and thus sees him as a worthwhile target based on his current import during this elite-media-driven “cultural” moment

Unfortunately, one of the requirements to become a Marine combat officer is to pass the Combat Endurance Test (CET). One Marine I know who lived through the experience simply described it as “hell.” Many of the details are not made available to the public at large, but the majority of men who attempt the feat fail. The number of women who passed the course can apparently be counted on one hand.
But now you won’t necessarily have to pass it. A few months ago the Marines quietly changed the requirement so that it was only one of a number of factors being considered for graduating the Infantry Officer Course (IOC).

@Yoda – the link about the CET test:
Marines quietyly lower combat training requirements (in 2018).
Just as they quietly raised the combat training requirements in 2012 (so this lowering is simply restoring the status that exists prior to 2012. Just as they have quietly made other changes to the overall testing for Marine reqcruits over the years.
From here:
https://www.marinecorpstimes.com/news/your-marine-corps/2018/02/07/passing-combat-endurance-test-is-no-longer-required-for-infantry-officers/
“ ‘As a result, the Combat Endurance Test (CET) reverted back to its original intent, prior to 2012, as an assessment tool to measure the retention of knowledge, skills and fitness achieved at the Basic Officer Course (BOC).’ Training Command said in a statement.”
“The CET has changed several times; it wasn’t until recently [2012] that Marines could washout from failing the course.”
A tactic from the manual “How to mislead by telling the truth, but not all of the truth”.

California state assembly member Cristina Garcia tried to ride the #MeToo bandwagon to a national spotlight — until a former aide and an anonymous lobbyist came forward to accuse her of alcohol-driven sexual harassment. Garcia took a “voluntary” unpaid leave of absence after those allegations emerged, but a new report from Politico suggests that Garcia’s problems with harassment and alcohol go deeper than first thought.
For instance, what’s up with the beer tap in her office?
The industry lobbyist said he was surprised last year when, during a late-morning policy meeting in Garcia’s Capitol office, the assemblywoman poured beer from a kegerator — a refrigerator with a beer tap on top –located in her office.
She offered the brew in red Solo cups to the group of lobbyists, even though it was “sometime between 11 a.m. and noon… a little early,” the lobbyist said.
…
However, the beer tap is the least of the problems. Marinucci’s new report makes it clear that alcohol-soaked socializing and listening to her sexual conquests were part of the job requirements in her office. When one aide had the temerity to question whether that was appropriate for an elected official, the self-proclaimed #MeToo leader and chair of the Assembly Women’s Caucus fired him for insubordination…

Months later, it’s at times hard to imagine Democrats failing to nominate a woman as their standard-bearer against President Trump in 2020.
Some of the party’s strongest potential candidates are women, including Harris and Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.). More pointedly, the rise of the #MeToo movement and Trump’s own controversies with women make it feel incongruous for Democrats to name a white male as their candidate in the next presidential race.
“The MeToo movement is a powerful force that could lead to Democratic midterm wins in 2018 and victory in the 2020 presidential race,” said Democratic strategist Brad Bannon
