Assimilate or Die

From here,

There’s a persistent trope in science fiction and fantasy about a society consisting solely of women. It’s a peaceful and prosperous society, free from all violence. There may be some female warriors, who are somehow better than all male warriors everywhere despite having no real pressure or battles to harden themselves on. As a female reader with a strong taste for rational thinking, I am begging authors to stop doing this. Every female over the age of seven knows that a planet full of only women would not be peaceful. Every female Odd will picture this situation as The Special Hell. Allow me to explain the matter for anyone confused as to what this situation would actually look like.

You might guess where this is leading.  Revisiting this post could be useful.

Female social structure is completely different from male social structure. Men tend to organize in a hierarchy of sorts. There’s one guy at the top, a few guys he trusts underneath him, etc. downward until you reach the guys that are on the bottom of the pile. The structure makes sense. It’s efficient, everyone knows who’s in charge, and it’s largely based around the individual. Someone can rise or fall in this hierarchy based on any number of things, but their position is usually pretty clear from the outside looking in.

Female social structure is more fluid. It’s based more on group identity than on individual characteristics. You tend to have one woman who is kind of in charge, your queen bee as it were. Those in her favor circle around her, and the circles continue outward until you have the women who are not part of the group. They aren’t at the bottom of the pile, they pretty much don’t exist. At least, if they’re lucky they don’t. One’s position in the social hierarchy can change at any time, to include who the queen bee is. Remember the scene in Mean Girls where Regina tries to sit at the lunch table with the other plastics but isn’t wearing the right color clothes? She was just knocked out of her position in the social hierarchy.

In a social structure like this, there’s no room for difference of opinion or people who stand out too much. If an individual, even by noncompliance, threatens the group identity; she will gain the ire of the entire group. They will hunt her without mercy until she complies with the demands of the group, is removed from their reach by either death or physical distance (which is getting much harder with the internet), or manages to win enough females to her side to either form a new group around her or replace the existing leader. The last option allows her to push her standard on the group as a whole. There is no option to live and let live. In other words, female social structure is closer to the Borg than the complex world we currently enjoy.

It is like the Borg.  Let that soak in.

The Borg are a collective hive mind, who will attempt to destroy all that they cannot assimilate.

What are some of the powerful weapons that the present day Borg possess?  They control HR departments, they have allies in the mainstream media and academia.  They can and do destroy the livelihood of anyone who resists.   Blacklists, ostracization, ridicule, browbeating are their tools in trade (but not facts, logic or reality).  That is about as powerful of a position as one can have.  Why did Stalin eagerly grab the leadership of the security apparatus of the Soviet Union?  Because that is the place from where the people can be controlled.

    Farm Boy,
I went to the original article and read it. We are headed to this and Google is already there. That is what we get for capitulating to a feminine primary society. Also, consider justice. Women see law as being applied subjectively, while men see it as being applied objectively. What Sarah Hoy warns us about is the “Women Are Wonderful Effect”.

Remember that Damore originally circulated his memo privately on an internal Google message board for discussing work policies. There was no immediate crackdown from his bosses and there probably wouldn’t have been—except that one of his co-workers clearly wanted to force Google’s hand by leaking the memo to the press and creating a frenzy.

Well, they’re at it again. Someone followed up by sending further leaks to the media, consisting of photos of internal message board discussions showing that some other Googlers agreed with Damore, at least in part. The obvious purpose of those leaks is to keep up the pressure on Google, to set off an inquiry into how many other horrible, raging, sexist bigots—as Damore has been styled in the technology media—also need to be purged from the company. That’s the clear implication: that Google needs to conduct a thorough investigation to root out any other James Damores who might be lurking there.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai was planning to hold a Google-wide videoconference meeting to discuss the case, to tamp down tensions, and to reassure everyone—then he abruptly canceled it because employees’ questions had been leaked to outside websites and because some left-leaning employees’ identities had been sent to “alt-right” Internet trolls.

This is how an organization gets eaten away by vicious politics. By giving one set of its employees the impression that they can leak to the press to get people who disagree with them fired, Google has apparently inspired another set of its employees to leak information to get the first group harassed. Talk about creating a “hostile work environment.”

This is clearly going to be bad for Google from the perspective of attracting and retaining talent. They could end up like the University of Missouri, which saw its enrollment crash by 35 percent. Minority students went elsewhere because they heard the place was a hotbed of racism—and white students went elsewhere because they feared becoming the victims of false accusations of racism.

A journalist who famously offered Bill Clinton oral sex as a thank you for keeping abortion legal is now decrying the Trump women for encouraging sexism by wearing high heels. Writing for Newsweek on Friday, Nina Burleigh seethed, “Six months in, and the Trump women are well on their way to normalizing the footwear of the beauty pageant.”

Burleigh quoted a British psychologist to decry Ivana, Ivanka and Melania for playing into male stereotypes:

“In terms of the human example, we tend to find the defining characteristics of the opposite sex attractive,” [Paul] Morris wrote. “High heels function in a similar way. Males respond to the characteristic way a woman walks, i.e., the movement of the female pelvis: High heels just exaggerate the femaleness of the walk. So to deconstruct why Trump women wear high heels: They are just buying into traditional binary views of male and female.”

He went on to describe how the apparent uniformity of thought at Google led people like Damore to feel ‘like they are being forcibly dragged into [sic] ideological indoctrination chamber,’” including these passages that sound like mash notes smuggled out of the Ministry of Truth:

Weekly public (though thankfully anonymous) shaming of employees for misdeeds as slight as anachronistic use of “guys” for a mixed gender group

Frequent references to documents that stigmatize open disagreement with a a rage [sic] of positions

Call for employees to give each other hugs at an all hands meeting because the wrong candidate won a presidential election in the country, following by a mass mailing on how to help your kids deal with grief due to the same occurrence

Which brings us to Pichai, the supposed grown-up in the room. He could have wrestled with the tension between population-level research and individual experience. He could have stood up for the free flow of information. Instead he joined the mob. He fired Damore and wrote, “To suggest a group of our colleagues have traits that make them less biologically suited to that work is offensive and not O.K.”

That is a blatantly dishonest characterization of the memo. Damore wrote nothing like that about his Google colleagues. Either Pichai is unprepared to understand the research (unlikely), is not capable of handling complex data flows (a bad trait in a C.E.O.) or was simply too afraid to stand up to a mob.

A jury in Fairfax County, Va., has awarded an ex-Army Colonel $8.4 million in a case involving a false allegation of rape by a Washington state woman.

Col. David “Wil” Riggins was accused of raping Susan Shannon of Everett, Wash., when they attended West Point together in 1986. Shannon made the allegations in a blog post when Riggins was being considered for a promotion to Brigadier General. The allegations couldn’t be proven, according to the Army’s Criminal Investigative Division, but Riggins was taken off the promotions list. He promptly retired.

Riggins then sued Shannon for defamation, claiming every aspect of her story was “provably false. The jury agreed.

Once any country gets nukes they then have to contain their desire for petty wars as they can no longer use conventional arms as their enemies will assume escaslation to nukes. E.g. why india and pakistan have settled down their differences.

Kim thinks nukes buy him defense as it does. No one invades Isreal because of theirs.
But the flip side is you cant use nukes as a threat for expansionism as its a one time deal.

Its like the guy in the movies holding a hostage at gunpoint.

As for Google, they have chosen to support SJWs ahead of the nerds who produce. Haven’t we seen this route for high tech companies before?

Today’s big tech firms, particularly ones like Google and Facebook, depend on an implicit bargain with the people who use them. We get free access to an enormous amount of information, in exchange for which we know we’re going to get bombarded with some ads. That’s a business model we’re pretty comfortable with because it’s what we did with television, and before that radio, and before that (to some extent) newspapers.

In the new Internet version, we know these big companies are gathering specific personal information about our habits and preferences, far more than anyone has ever done, but we accept it because we think they’re just going to use it to sell us stuff, which might sometimes be annoying but isn’t ominous. But if we think there is a wider purpose, if we think they’re going to use our information for social engineering or political manipulation—will that break the bargain?

The University of California at Berkeley played down news last summer that it had installed an “escape hatch” from protesters in the chancellor’s office. The term was “the concoction of a 19-year-old headline writer,” a university spokesman said, referring to the student reporter who broke the story. “It’s a door,” the rep said, later adding that campus security thought it was “beneficial” to have more than one exit.

But internal emails we’ve seen show that a staff “deeply disturbed by [recent] occupations” did build the exit to protect themselves from potentially dangerous students.

In a proposal requesting funding for the $9,000 security door, the chancellor’s office detailed the risk of “vandalism & malicious mischief” and a “high . . . level of probability of future loss or injury if [the] condition is not addressed.” The proposal noted that protesters had “rushed the building and attempted to occupy” the chancellor’s office in April 2015. “Staff people pushed to close the office doors while protestors pushed them open.”

That NYTimes article defines the problem.
“conversations that once might have begun, I think A, and here is my argument, now take the form, Speaking as an X, I am offended that you claim B.”

It removes conversation and the possibility of understanding and replaces it with self contained, homogeneous closed camps. You cannot relate to me because you are not me so don’t interact with me.

But life requires interaction. Saying hello, walking down the street, serving customers, sharing a sunny summer day. We cannot do these things if we keep to ourselves out of jealousy or spite or anger.

Funny but their suggested path is what they accuse others of. Boys club, white privalege, etc.

Yet look at the outcome when they do exactly that. Every large city has a Chinatown, a Little India, the Black neighborhood. Yes they live, they are culturally, racially pure. But do they thrive?

Ask any scientist, shhh I know, about closed systems and entropy. Mechanical, biological, chemical, social. They may thrive for a time but inevitably they wind down, decay. The friction of the system, the entropy, winds it down. It needs a source of renewal, of new energy from the outside. Or it simply winds down and begins to decay, some slowly and gracefully, others looking stable until a sudden collapse.

All these distinctions do not define the person. What you do, how you live your life. They define you.

I have no idea who Ton and BV and Deti are. Black, white, purple, green. But I respect their strong positions. I don’t know if Fuzz is 6-2 or 5-1. But I know he has a huge heart.
Molly, Bloom, Tarn. Do I have to see them to judge their beauty as women? Their very different views bring grace here. I am not Christian but I admire Toad’s depth of scripture and his unshakeable faith in his God.

Just by being here, by our civil discourse we prove that there is a better way.

But what do I know. I am just a white guy on a white horse.
