Wild Goose Chase

From here,

While Europe has embraced socialists and Muslims, among other groups, Russia appears a final redoubt of white pride. At least, this is how Russia has portrayed itself to, and is viewed by, many on the new American right—the angry horde, the white-nationalist base who wants their country back.

Really?  How many Trump voters considered the state of Russia when deciding to vote?  Probably they knew that Putin is an authoritarian figure, and that Russia really is not doing so well.  For most Americans, it really dos not go much beyond that.

There were glimmers of this in the ‘90s and the aughts, when angry, white men flew to Moscow, and then St. Petersburg and Kiev, and then Tomsk and Omsk and Vladivostok, in search of beautiful, Russian women to replace their feminist wives in America. (I wrote a story about these men, “From Russia with Pre-Nup,” for GQ.)

Somehow he is going to connect a few fellas who went to Russia to find brides with supposed evil of Trump winning the election.  Let us see how this is done.

What they loved about Russian women, I learned, was not just that they were gorgeous, but rather that they were submissive. They had their values straight. When these men talked about American women, they always sounded bitter. American women didn’t know how to please a man; they didn’t wear makeup; they didn’t cook; they let themselves go. These men came from Arkansas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and the Central Valley of California, and they had fallen in love with Russia because it was full of pretty white girls who acted the way they thought girls should act.

Well, yes.  Of course men do not want the typical modern American woman (NAWALT applies).  Who can argue with this?  If the Russian women were as described above, then these men did well.

Donald Trump’s choice of female partners reflects the yearnings and inclinations of these angry, white men—many of whom, one imagines, now comprise his base. Two of his three wives come from Slavic, ex-Communist countries. His shortest marriage was to an American.

So here we connect the dots.  Donald Trump is one of these types.   Let us consider this further.  What was it that the average male voter noticed with respect to Trump’s wife?  If you are guy, you know the answer:  It is that she is hot.  They are thinking, “Here is an alpha with a hot wife.   That is what we would expect from an alpha.  And he is in charge.  Maybe we have a leader here.”

The fact that she is from a Slavic country is way down there on anybody’s list of things to consider; except if you are a liberal, where everybody must be put into their respective ethnic/racial groupings.  In that case, it is at the top of the list.

Perhaps the author should watch one of Trump’s campaign speeches.  He promised to work to improve the lives of his countrymen.  This was considered to be a radical idea.  For modern leaders seemingly to want to improve the lives of everybody but their countrymen.  Of course, that is assertion is too strong, but there is much truth in it.  By saying that he would put his fellow citizens interests first, Trump won.

Yes, Melania is good looking. However, wanting a wife who wants to be part of a team instead of a selfish bitch on wheels would not be seen with favor by feminists or their allies.
    NAWALT applies.

The difference in attitude must be part of a cultural divide. The population in Russia at the outbreak of WWII was 154 million. They lost ten million soldiers and seventeen million civilians. In Ukraine, it cut deeper. They lost one in every eight people. So, they know what it is like to have an acute shortage of marriagable men.It is part of living memory. At present, they have only about 85 men for every 100 women.

    Yoda,
It may be something else than racism. They may like to pidgeonhole by stereotype rather than deal with people as individuals.

Perhaps with good reason. Maybe the author should come to this site and learn…

  7. So true, most Americans are barely aware of what’s going on in their own country, much less Russia. Not that it is a good thing, but shiny object!!!!

  9. May I suggest not spending the whole next 4 years whining, btw? It’s annoying. May I suggest some introspection, instead?

So now, someone has brought it up in the halls Of the EU. I get the feeling that the EU is headed to irrelevance.

Getting back to the original post and to to address men who make disparaging comments about American women vs. Russian women, most of these that I have heard come from men who have only dated foreign women. What I gather is that they are that much more pleasant to date. By itself, that speaks volumes.

Apparently The Times has a front page story tomorrow about how Russia is waging an unconventional propaganda war against Britain. That’s strange, that. Because most of the lies I have been told came via the BBC from our own government. You know the ones. Like how migration is a wonderful benefit to our economy and migrants make a huge net contribution. How old people are taking all the resources because it’s not Pakistanis breeding like fucking cockroaches at all. How we need to build more houses because the House Monster keeps eating them, it’s not because of the huge migrant and muslim driven population increase.

And Russia isn’t overtaxing us to send money to countries that hate us. Putin isn’t forcing us to pay for QUANGOs, charities, departments, policies, projects and schemes that we neither need nor want. Again, that’s our own government.

Who’s the real enemy of the people
