The Missing Men

There have been a spate of news articles lately about large numbers of the so-called prime working age men who are not in the work force.  I am sure that you have seen them.  Clearly the authors (and the people behind them) are not happy about this.  It is understood that men work; have done so for all time and should do so forever.  Still, they don’t want to harp on this too much, as it would bring up the question: If women have equal rights and all, why are people not wondering about how many or them are in the workforce?  Doing so would accentuate the differences in expectations about men and women, and we can’t have that, pretending to be being equal and all.

So where are these missing men if not in the work force?  Here is some speculation (not necessarily mutually exclusive):

I. Playing video games with their buddies

II. Working for “under the table” wages

III. Engaged in illegal activity for profit

IV. Living with their girlfriend who is on welfare

V. Living with the parents

VI. On “disability” (sometimes fraudulently)

Perhaps you could add more.  Note a common theme, which will be discussed below.

For many, the economic opportunities have been limited.  They have been thrust into a MGTOW life.  Some probably embrace it.  Other, maybe less so.  This is a forced MGTOW a bit different than that often considered in the manosphere; one that is not so much with respect to the absence of women,  or about men doing great things on their own, but in terms of disengaging from society (and in the above cases, a burden on system).

Is this the future of MGTOW?

    Farm Boy,
How many times have you said it? Incentives matter. These young men have difficult job prospects compounded by no hope of achieving a stable family life. These guys did not want this but they are reacting to what is being offered to them.

And they aren’t a drain on the system YET! At some point they will still cos more they ever contributed to the system. Health care, welfare, food stamps, subsidized housing, etc.

MGTOW after years of work is one thing. Before ever lifting a finger is quite another.

    Repeat after me.

Young men cannot unsee their own experience.

    1. Mom ripping the house, savings, everything he worked for away from dad.
    2. The corporation downsizing dad in the 90s for profit.
    3. Dad’s Nortel pension (or GM or Teamsters or…) paying out at 10 cents on the dollar
    4. Average tax rate going from 19% to 34% in tbe time he went from middle school to college.
    5. Seeing starter houses go from 200k to1million in ten years not because zomeone lives in them because offshore bought them.

I grew up in Toronto from 1980 to the birth of my second child in 1996. I literally saw all of the above.

Regardless of the spin you cannot overcome experience lived day in day out for years. The guys have seen it.

Instead live frugally, work only as hard as you need to, and go play. Surf/skate/snow boards are only $200.

Oh and Justin announced yesterday that the Canada Pension Plan contribution cap will go from 54k to 85k and will be at an additional 4% surcharge on top of the 7 currently. So every dollar a foreman makes over a 54k journeyman gets a specially 11% added tax. Wow. There is an incentive to move up.

  6. Men do lots of stuff. Most stuff. W/O men, stuff breaks and doesn’t get fixed. Like kitchen drawers. And well pumps. And electrical grids. And phone networks. And stuff.

We are all needed and necessary. We don’t have to be the same. We are actually better in tandem.

Yep. It’s true. Think about it…. W/o men, how much of the civilization we depend on would work?

Garbage? Sewer? Electric? Phone? The coordination of goods delivered to stores nationwide? The ability to go and buy stuff vs. fighting and rioting?

Everything we depend upon but don’t see or appreciate? :/ wake up, ladies!

Right now if I didn’t have the loans I took out for house improvements and kids university I could go and work as a retail manager happily and fuck corporate life.

My mortgage is only 1200 a month and under 150k left. and groceries and utilities are 400. Cars are paid.

at 15/hr at 35 a week, 4 weeks a month is 2100. More than enough. All the wife’s money could go to savings.

3 to 4 years out thats the plan. So just when the market is losing solid workers and supervisors, a 30 year experienced manager has zero incentive to stay. hmm.

Then again without a wife and kids I would not have needed a 4 bedroom house and would be retired years ago.

What the common voters get answers the elites and their minions don’t get is…. Trump is neither a Republican or democratic

He’s a populist using the GOP machine. An unwilling GOP machine but he’s still using it

But yes voting for Trump is a big fuck you to the elite of both parties. I wouldn’t be surprised if the typical Trump voters doesn’t give a shit if Trump wins, or if he gets a damn thing done when he does win as long as he keeps making the elite squrim

I would say dropping atomic bombs or some such is the biggest fuck you of modern history. What the Roman’s did to Carthage or what Alexander did to Tyre are probably both bigger fuck yous then any vote but….. people vote on emotions and that video probably got 20% of its viewers to go vote Trump on one of the early voting days

With the everyone against Trump, you’re seeing the BREXIT effect.

I’m serious when I say that Nigel was responsible for 75+% of the BREXIT vote. Many suspect that the official leave party was there to do a mediocre job so that they lost. Only Nigel dragged the political discussion onto the issues that no one else wanted to talk about…no one except the real people. Very very few of the politicians on the leave side actually moved things forward, even they didn’t want to talk about the killer issue (immigration – WE ARE FUCKING FULL, more than full and it’s ruining our economy and our society)

When Nigel stood for a seat in the General Election it was blatant that all the other parties didn’t much care who won, as long as it wasn’t him. Laws were broken in that seat’s election campaigning against him. The same thing has happened in France. Anyone but Le Pen. And the Austrian Presidential election that they’re in the process of re-running due to proven electoral fraud in the first run. Fraud including greater than 100% turnout in some areas.

The political elite is more afraid of outsiders than one of their own, even if he/she is from another party (in name only).

I’m with Michael Moore, on this…probably only on this. Vote Trump or Vote Fuck the Establishment (Vote Trump).

I don’t blog, but knowing I am only human and not a star when it comes to saying the N word (not that one, I meant “no”), I have this 1-step superplan to avoid infidelity that is foolproof:
Step 1: don’t spend any moment alone with another non-family man.

Nothing ever happens when there are others to tell the tale. Just the student-teacher and the fighting/physical set-up of such a situation makes it obviously risky, I think most women realise that.

And my husband would over his dead body allow me to post that he is “not good at being a man”, or any such blatant disrespect. Perhaps she thought she might stir his violent tendencies up that way, and is simply hoping for a beating.

So your average not a big name in the online world woman who simply wants to be a good wife, need not have any trouble in that area.

As for JB I did go read the post but didnt seem to be able to read the comments. She wouldn’t know of me, I don’t think, so I doubt I’d be as effective as a regular commenter saying “beware.”

Five hours a day most days a week is a LOT of time for a hobby when one has a family. Unless she’s planning to go pro or open her own studio or something, I don’t get it. Perhaps the book is a reason?

Adrenaline can be an addiction, sounds like others are saying “too much” and she’s not wanting to hear that. That’s a red flag, addiction wise if nothing else.

Another concern, she says her husband finds it unattractive, off putting. That’s not good.

I agree with happyhw, being around other men unaccompanied and especially in close proximity can be playing w fire.

    From a commenter at JB

So? You’ve changed due to your training, in some ways for the better, but not all. You now seem to think the dynamics of your marriage have changed. You obviously feel ‘you’ are now ‘superior’, ‘worth more’, deserve ‘something better’ because you have some (wrongly) ‘imagined’ ability to overpower your husband (or because, like all those women you formerly despised, ‘you’re worth it’ simply for being you). That your family, all of them, will have paid for that new ‘superiority’ seems not to interest you. That you seem to to be contemplating arbitrarily and unilaterally ‘dispensing’ with the oaths you made, but also Every. Single. One. of the posts where you have ‘claimed’ to disagree, ridicule and undermine all the feminist hypocrisy is sadly almost pathetically funny. Why? Because you have revealed yourself as … exactly the same as every feminist harpy out there … and that depresses me beyond belief, because if even ‘you’ then ‘is’ there a woman who wont?

My one hope? That you are ‘using’ us, and this post, to simply clarify your thoughts. that you’re just ‘venting’, ‘imagining’, ‘dreaming’ – the what ifs and if I dids we all engage in on occasion. Not that you seriously have intentions at this point. That there are issues that concern you is apparent, that you are ‘clarifying’ them so as to best express them to the only one who should be involved, your husband. That you’ll ‘together’ discuss, and hopefully address them to both your satisfaction (a strong marriage isn’t a difficulty and difference free one, it’s one where those difficulties and differences are resolved and become irrelevant in the grand scheme of things). Because if it’s more, I will simply (and probably unnoticeablely) stop reading for the simple evidence that you’ll have become … ‘a fraud’.

The most profound ‘tell’ in this post is the dis-respect for your husband.

‘Is he good at being a man? Not really. No.’ I struggle to think of a more effective way to destroy your husband. The fact that you couch it in such ‘oh-so-serious’ rationalisation and ‘context’ is just typical female dissimulation – a way to state after the fact ‘oh I didn’t mean it *that* way’. Doesn’t matter – it’s already been said, the harm has been done – as was intended.

I’ve never seen you speak so disrespectfully of him in anything I’ve read of yours in the past. You know he doesn’t like you doing this but you refuse to stop. At 5 hours a time 5 days a week you are not even open to meeting him half-way.

At the same time you are building up his replacement. You talk proudly of walking ‘at his side’, and now you are ‘working together’ on a book. Was that his idea or yours? Be honest now – he’s an instructor and you’re a writer. How convenient that you now have an excuse for some private one on one time with him. More plausible deny-ability – and yes one of the people you are fooling is yourself.

It’s always in the respect Janet. You are losing your respect for your husband and with it will go your love. And then your family. Worth it?

What some of us are observing is that perhaps you feel that you’re now better at being a man than your husband is, and that that paradigm shift has caused you to lose respect for and attraction to him.

The interactions you’ve described with your husband have raised suspicion that perhaps he can’t take care of you in the ways that you need a man to take care of you, on a primal level. And lo and behold, here is another man who DOES have those traits, and with whom you have a positive emotional connection, and who you deem intelligent and trustworthy enough to collaborate with on a book.

As Cadders says, those looking through a Red Pill lens believe they are witnessing hypergamy and branch swinging in action.

Mgtowhorseman, so many people see the expectation of decent behaviour as controlling nowadays.

In many places, mixed socialization comes down to women in the kitchen and men on the couch with a little walking back and forth. It’s crazy to let your wife spend that much time with another man, and for a woman to allow herself to be put in a position that welcomes this kind of gossip is crazy, too.

Same goes for online, you can have no social media accounts, anonymous ones, shared ones or all passwords shared. Being secretive about such things to your spouse is weird and creepy.

There are some things that are just not appropriate for married women, and if you let them happen, of course there are risks.

The crazy thing is not that AWALT, men also stray. Hormones and temptation are there, we’re all just human. The crazy thing is people think they can do mating dance rituals and the like for fun, and not risk their marriage doing so.

  80. In my area, there are conspicuously few campaign sign compared to usual. I see no H signs. The T signs went up early and have been repeatedly vandalized (paint, torn, shot, etc.) One neighbor has a big T sign and flag surrounded by barbed wire to prevent vandals. Perhaps the most touching is a small sign by the edge of the road, hand painted w red letters on a white board, simply TRUMP.

Not hard for us (to avoid risky mixed socializing) either. Only awkward thing is one stay-home husband who is the father of one of my toddlers playmates. All playdates are either weekends (with partners) or busy museums with separate transportation.
I do have male friends, but they are family friends, I never see them without my husband there.
My husband had to hire someone to work under him, that he had to kind of mentor – no chance of that being a woman.

Play fighting like JB, that counts as foreplay IMO.

It remains odd that pop culture portrays reasonable common sense safeguards for your marriage as a bad thing.

This is just too surreal for me, I’m not angry, I’m just curious to see how big the bang is going to be. It’s going to be fucking epic, baby. 2008 was a damp squib.

As far as I care to understand it: House prices are not falling in the US national stats because banks/hedge funds etc are intervening in the housing market in the 20 key cities (the cities from which the national stats are generated) by buying up homes in huge numbers => so the prices are being inflated because those houses never hit the market. Outside those 20 cities, which don’t need to be fixed because they’re irrelevant to the national stats? not so good.

Even if Trump gets in, the world is fucked by debt, all these bubbles looking to burst. No wonder illary is alleged to be looking to start WW III in order that the proles get distracted.

He’s trying hard to help out around the house so she’s not over worked. She sees it as being weak and inattentive. Some alpha wanders in to her life and BAM! Playing the boneaphone for someone else.

    The future of MGTOW:

I have told this esteemed distinguished assembly all of this before, in so many words. The future of MGTOW is that it’s going to get a lot, lot bigger. It’s also going to have a lot of men “forced” into it. But men will do what they do. They will adapt, improvise and overcome. It will be painful at first, but they will eventually get used to it like they did 100 to 200 years ago being married drafthorses. And they’ll even kind of like it.

I think right now MGTOWs are doing all of the above – playing video games and working shitty jobs earning just enough to survive and buy some toys; earning under the table nontaxed income; living with a GF/FwB; engaging in illegal income producing activity (usually making or selling drugs); or freeloading off family and the government. Some in the ‘sphere actually encourage this last one – CappyCap exhorts us to Enjoy the Decline, after all.

This isn’t going to change, except it will become more and more prevalent as time goes on. We’re going to become a country with upwards of 20, 30, 40 million men who are unmarried, unemployed or underemployed, and draining government resources. These men have no reason to change and every reason to stay right where they are. Some enterprising lawyer will get some court to declare them an Oppressed Minority or disadvantaged. That will then entitle them to government goodies and benefits.

The men like Cappy – working jobs, enjoying life, earning income from jobs and other ventures, not married, no kids – will continue as before. That kind of life will be very attractive to a lot of men. Most men are going to give up the idea of being married, settling down, and having kids. They won’t earn enough money for it; they aren’t attractive enough; it’s too much work even if they could do it; and the risks aren’t worth the benefits. So they’ll go the Cappy route. The most influential men in the sphere, except Dalrock, are doing this. They’re either original MGTOWs, or they’re PUAs or wannabe PUAs. Most will get sex now and again but nothing serious. As soon as they can, they’ll get vasectomies. As soon as Vasalgel passes FDA approval they’ll use that.

To many older married men, the Cappy lifestyle will look strange; many others will envy them. (I kind of do.) But it will be aspirational for a lot of men — they’ll try to replicate it as best they can.

Most MGTOWs will do everything they can to take as much from government as they can – not because they want to force a collapse; but because they’re entitled to it like everyone else. Why wouldn’t you take free money that you’re qualified for?

The hue and cry from society will increase. “Where have all the good men gone?” “Why won’t these men grow up and get married?” Some will cave to the pressure. A lot of women will still want marriage, because status boost and show up the frenemies and want kid and need dad for kid. Men do not understand just how strong a woman’s drive to get preggers and give birth is. Just as women do not understand just how strong a man’s drive to get his dick in that warm wet hole is.

So… A lot of them will still knock up women. Spermjacking. She’ll lie to him, telling him how hot she is for him; how much she loves his dick in her pussy, etc. Real pornstar treatment. She’ll pornstar it up for him. Then after she pops the kid out, wedding or not, she kicks him out. what we have now on steroids, multiplied by 1000.

There’ll be more violence, more rioting, more civil unrest. What the black ghettos look like now in our major metros, multiply that by 100,000. It will spread to every population center into working class white neighborhoods, then into middle class. It’s already there where I am. A lot of these men are armed to the teeth.

That’s the future of MGTOW. Much more prevalent, much bigger, much more dystopian, more men forced into it, to which they’ll adapt.

  161. SFC Ton says:

    …….So they’ll go the Cappy route……

Doubtful. His route is purposeful, driven by a decent iq, sense of adventure and to a certain degree, founded on a good up bringing way back when he was little cappy

That cannot be said of most young men, especially the good up bringing part but most men are of average iq, or lower, have no real sense of adventure like hunting for dinosaur fossils et

…….That’s the future of MGTOW. Much more prevalent, much bigger, much more dystopian, more men forced into it, to which they’ll adapt…….

Agreed. Sort of. We’ll eat each other up over other fault lines like diversity and economics before 2 generations are out. Right now we have a low intensity race war; that will gain momentum as Whites contuine to decline in numbers and non Whites increase their operational tempo.

I am saying that the typical dude is not very intelligent, nor particularly driven, and increasingly coming from broken homes/ shitty up bringings so when they go their own way (typically) it will not be driven from a sense of self worth or well planed etc like Cappy and others. Nor will they will be doing cool shit like riding bikes, writing books, hunting for fossils etc the gold standard and the Golden age of mgtow

It’s hard to over state how bad and how long the economy has sucked for most men. Even before the SMP / MMP got so out of control. So they will be playing video games, getting fat etc because they won’t know any better or have any better options. Broken, hopelessness men living lives of despair.

Economically it has been nothing but bad news for most men going on 30 plus years now. We’ll see more mgtow as that bad news continues to get worse even if we suddenly fixed the dysfunction in the smp/ MMP.

If a guy is making/ has the potential to make a 100k a year and is ghosting, then yeah that’s a Cappy sort of mgtow. If he is making 12-15k a year? Probably not

Now…. imagine Trump magically fixes the economy and most men can find, honest decent paying work 2–3 years after high school….. Imagine the post ww2 years up until sometime in the 70’s but with the current SMP /MMP dysfunction ….. men would be out there working their 9-5, driving their nice truck/muscle car/ bike/ boat/ playing video games etc. after work, on the weekends and vacations regardless of the dysfunction in the smp/ mmp. They would be earning that good wage so they could have cooler shit to do with their free time

Most men are dropping out, living in their parents basement etc because there aren’t any better economic options. They are making just enough to get by because that’s all they can do. On top of that, most men are betas and know deep down chicks are out unless they make $$$. Sort of a double whammy but it is primarily eccmocicaly driven
