Women’s Choices

Over at RPG’s, commenter Megan Rivera said

Plenty of “modern women” who are into equality with their partners enjoy cleaning and making their home look beautiful. Plenty of modern women who are Feminists enjoy decorating and cooking. Feminism isn’t about demeaning women for being femme, a huge focus of feminism is making sure people have the ability to choose how to live their own lives without harsh judgements of the outside world, and would never dream of looking down on a woman who was a mother, homemaker, domestic, whatever. There are a LOT of women who are Feminists and homemakers, and posts like this and the comments afterward make me feel sad because so many people have a deep, fundamental misunderstanding about what Feminism is and looks like and how Feminists operate. For that I’m truly sorry.

Let us take the assertion that Feminism is all about women’s choices at face value.   What additional options do women have now that they did not have back in the days of the Evil Patriarchy.

I. They expect to make their own money.  It used to be that they were expected to dependent on men to be the breadwinner.  Now, not so much.  Of course, in the Evil Patriarchy days, women often had jobs like teacher or nurse which paid well enough.  They could start up businesses.  There were plenty of opportunities for them to make money, but still they were expected to marry a man, then scale back their work effort.

This is not really a new option; rather it is just a change in expectations.  Of course, the skids have been greased for women here, as affirmative action abounds.

II. They can now unleash their hypergamy.  This is something new.  Under the Evil Patriarchy, women were constrained by the need/desire to get married to seek a fella of comparable worth early.  Not so any more.

III.  They can be sluts, celebrate it and probably still get married.  The pill was helpful here.  Feminism made slut culture acceptable.  Under the Evil Patriarchy, being a known slut ruled out marriage to a high value man.  Now, there is often a man waiting when she decides to jump off the carousel.

IV. They can be poor mothers, and people can’t/won’t say anything.  This is a new option.  In the past, women who did poorly as mothers would hear about it from relatives/neighbors.  This responsibility is now apparently the Government’s job, and they do it poorly.

V. They can now mess up their own lives and everybody else that they come in contact with.  There are many options here.  They might become alpha widows, entitlement princesses, make false DV/rape accusations, engage in divorce theft, go EPL, etc.

VI.  The Government and its money now cover for them.  This is liberating for sure.  They don’t have to adhere to anybody’s standards.  If their behavior leads to bad results, Daddy Government will step in and help.

VII.  They can now leverage their prime years of beauty for all sorts of benefits; free drinks, free trips, lots of validation, hot sex with lots of men, etc.

Please feel free to add your own new options.

P.S.  NAWALT of course applies.  Thank goodness not all women have availed themselves to the new options.

Maybe, just to spice things up, you give them a choice on which hole your going to fuck, but I don’t recommend giving them that option very often. Unless she earned it

Fuzzie – you’re right. women, in general, tend to think everything is is a la carte when it isn’t. i really really really hope i’ve taught my girls well here. i really hope i’ve drilled into their souls that (1) life is not all about them, and (2) you have to make a choice; you can’t have it all, and you have to live with the consequences of whatever choice you make.

Current, 3rd wave feminism is like HIV: fuck around with the wrong females and eventually say goodbye to that which matters to you.

    The state enforces this rule.

I was bleeding to death in East Asia in 1988. In the Japanese (Ginza Kikuchi) hospital there was a problem: I am a rare blood type in Japan. So they sourced the required 9 units of blood from a us army base. This was before HIV screening was available.

Interesting experience, watching the transfusions released into my arm. Roulette is not my game.

Situation: She gets pregnant outside wedlock and the guy takes off.

Before feminism: She quietly “goes away” for a while, an infertile couple adopts the baby, and she returns home a wiser girl.

After feminism: Your tax dollars help her murder her innocent but inconvenient baby. She returns home with a prescription for Vicodin and no plans to quit slutting around.

But in a brief discussion with reporters on her campaign plane on Tuesday morning she was coughing again

Friday she couldn’t stop coughing and clearing her throat as she neared the end of her remarks at a Florida event and popped a cough drop

At the end of her remarks, as she was headed for the exit, Clinton had to reach out for her lead Secret Service agent’s arm and steady herself

Since developing pneumonia, she’s had coughing fits several times and observers have noticed strangeness about her gaze

Even though the course syllabi contained no “gendered assumptions” about students or other overtly discriminatory implications, Parson writes, they display prejudice against women and minorities because they refuse to entertain the possibility that “scientific knowledge is subjective

Throughout her dissertation, Parson assumes and asserts that women and minorities are uniquely challenged by the idea that science can provide objective information about the natural world. This is an unfair assumption, she says, because the concept of objectivity is too hard for women and minorities to understand. “[N]otions of absolute truth and a single reality” are “masculine,” she says, referring to poststructuralist feminist theory.

Two professors at the school, which is located in Michigan, were reported to the school’s bias response team (it’s exactly what you think it is) by their students for voicing conservative viewpoints, according to documents obtained by the College Fix.

One of the professors stated he or she (the report does not indicate how the professor self-identified) believed there were only two genders and wouldn’t use alternate pronouns like ze or zir. The other professor said he believed children should be raised by a mother and father. The second professor was required to have a conversation with his department chair about the “incident.”If you have conservative thoughts, you’d be wise not to voice them if you’re on the Grand Valley State University campus.

As Cappy recently pointed out. Feminism and women working not quite doubled the workforce from 1980 to now. Really besides care for the children (say add 5% to needed production, all low wage jobs) what added services or production was added to the needed production of tbe civilization? Maybe some short term bulge in discretionary spending of the women with their own money for the first time.

So you double the workforce but no increase in real consumption. So is it a wonder you get the cascade of.

wage stagnation as labour is everywhere
higher demands for credentials to compete for the jobs everyone wants
colleges pumping out higher and higher degreed graduates to meet a for profit demand for degrees.
false jobs shuffing paper to give jobs to the overdegreed.
electronic money to lay the overdegreed as nothing being produced.
    spin repeat forever.
    what could happen?

    oh wait.
some guys no longer see the value of competing for produce nothing jobs.
some millenials stop overconsuming for the sake of it. some old folks actually need real services to fix their stuff or care for them.
some bridges and train tracks fail cause no one knows how to fix them anymore.

    hmmm some things are happening.

who coulda seen this. I mean double the workers means double the goods which means more stuff for everyone which is better for everyone….right?

    Bueller? anyone?

    Fuzz

Wages are flat because you doubled the available workforce with no increase in demand hence businesses can pay lower as people compete now 2:1 for every previous job. that is before job loss to automation, recession and globalization. Twice the workers same number actually needed hence cheapest labour gets the job and rest go hungry.

The piddley added jobs to care for the kids etc. no where near makes up. Its no wonder wages are flat adjusted for inflation. actually we are lucky its now wage deflation.

But what if someone falls off a ship during a Princeton cruise? “Man overboard!” wouldn’t do. Instead, a quick poll among people on deck could settle whether most observers thought the unlucky person was male or female. In cases of a tie, be fair and just leave the person in the water. Couldn’t everyone just yell, “Person overboard”? No. A generic shout like that could be taken as a subtle rejection of the falling person’s private gender choice. “Possible female or male overboard” wouldn’t work either, since everyone knows that there are somewhere between two and 32 genders, and failing to acknowledge them all before attempting a rescue would surely be seen as non-inclusive and therefore micro-aggressive. So, what to do? Committing a gender gaffe would be just awful. So it might be best to let the individual drown and get the gender right later at the autopsy.

    Sometimes Hillary makes sense

Leaked audio of a Hillary Clinton fundraiser that took place back in February is circulating today on social media. In the clip Hillary Clinton makes the case that a lot of Bernie Sanders’ supporters are young people buying into a false promise of free stuff and a political revolution that will never come.

“And on the other side, there’s a just a deep desire to believe that, you know, we can have free college, free healthcare, that what we’ve done hasn’t gone far enough and we just need to, you know, go as far as, you know, Scandinavia, whatever that means, and half the people don’t know what that means, but it’s something that they deeply feel.”
