Empowered

From this,

If a female celebrity drops out of the news for awhile or seems to be losing the public’s eye, there’s a very easy way to get attention back: get naked.

I’m not saying this is necessarily why these women take their clothes off (and I’m not saying it isn’t) but I am saying it happens with relative frequency. In the last year we’ve seen , Miley Cyrus, and Kim Kardashian (several times) pose nude

In case you think only a certain kind of celebrity bares all, a few others who have participated in nude photo shoots (not leaks) include Academy Award-winning Anne Hathaway and world tennis champion Serena Williams. It’s not just women, but it’s mostly women. And they all give the same reason.

“It’s empowering,” said Lovato after her clothes-free photo shoot last year. “I am empowered by my body,” wrote Kardashian in a blog post a few weeks ago, responding to critics of her latest nude selfie. “I am empowered by my sexuality. I am empowered by feeling comfortable in my skin.”

So is it empowering?  It does seem to be.  These women get to use their body without restrictions for their own gain.  This all is part of a trend where women have less restrictions on their sexuality and men have more on theirs (e.g. consent agreements); with power flowing to the women.

It is odd that this change in relative power has been largely ignored.  Or if it is mentioned, it would be blows against the evil patriarchy.  Furthermore, as changes in laws and norms are made, there are lots of distractions to keep one from seeing what is truly happening.

So what are do they do with this power?  One might suggest to these women that just because one has the power to do something, that does not necessarily mean that one should do it.  Also one might suggest that just because something seems to benefit you in the short run, in the long run it might not be so beneficial.  Furthermore, what might benefit you could be detrimental to society as a whole.  Do any of these thoughts ever cross the mind of empowered women?  What thoughts do cross the mind of empowered women?

A friend of a friend has a high school soccer playing daughter. The daughter decided that it was AOK to change her shirt while on the field. She was stopped from doing so by others. This resulted in much unhappiness

So she went on Facebook and started bitching about oppression and how she was proud of her body, etc. Somehow, the larger picture does not seem to occur to youngsters today.

I wonder if “empowering” ever involves activities that are difficult and require much work. For example, is digging ditches empowering?

Miley and Kim Kardashian have shown so much, so many times, I would think they’d have to post pictures of an abdominal surgery or something to get anyone’s “attention” and show something new.
There’s an idea. “Hospital view” could be the new kink. Anyone can get naked but that takes some real dedication. Do it Miley! Do it Kim! Show us your spleen.

These celebrities are going to do anything their publicists tell them to. However, responding to to how it felt as “empowering” smacks of narcissism. It was that long ago that it was generally thought that only men could be narcissists. That notion has been stood on its ear.

    Yoda,
Something is going on but, it is not an absence of intelligence. It is appealling to instincts below the level of consciousness. Curiously, it’s not so much about how it affects men but about its effect on women.

Riddle me this. Years ago, I worked in a place that sold magazines. Ove three fourths of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition were sold to women. Whar is up with that? And, these were nominally heterosexual women.

About narcissis, as I would be very nervous being a friend to Josef Stalin, it may be more dangerous to be associated with female narcissists.

It’s not just competition. There is something very dark and hidden going on and it is close to why these celebrities say it is empowering to pose and be displayed naked.

    Farm Boy,
She is in high school and she wanted to change her shirt on the field? When she was prevented, she took to facebook to protest?
    More narcissism.
To add to that, what gives with women protesting about men objectifying them when they go to such a deliberate extent to display themselves?

Female magazines are filled with images of beautiful women too. It’s projection. Women want to look like them, and they like viewing images of beautiful people.
There’s also the possibility they are buying the Swimsuit magazines for their sigoths. I’ve bought Mike every issue for the past 20+ years. This year was most interesting because a third of the issues had the “empowered” wrestling chick and the “empowered” fat girl on the cover…those were left on the shelves. It was difficult to find one with the model on the cover.

    Liz,
These women were not buying the issue for their significant others. While they were outwardly heterosexual, I cannot account for the level of interest that would exceed heterosexual men. As it stands, to me, it is inexplicable. The only thing that can account for some of it is the culture we live attributes beauty to women and not to men.

It isn’t odd, Fuzzie. It’s normal for women to be “objectified” that way. Women are supposed to be “sexual objects”. For men, this is more demeaning…can you image John Wayne dancing naked on a table?
Think of the cultures that objectified men in a similar fashion. We are starting to (we see these trends in magazines too), Rome did, Greece did.

Now, I will say I do very much like the male form…but it’s a different context and more nuanced (I guess that’s the proper word). In modern society there have never been more men in magazines posing or naked men dancing than there are now. Is this empowering to men overall? I’d say it’s the opposite. The last Magic Mike demonstrated this social change well…the men even danced in “drag queen” contest at one point.

Yoda points out something. The women on Cosmo are better looking than the ones on men’s magazines. While it is natural for men to be attracted to the female form, why are the hotter girls on the cover of Cosmopolitan?
At another blog, a female commenter pointed out to me that the masculine is attracted to the feminine and vice versa, even if it is only words on a computer screen.
While the Greeks were weird about promoting male beauty, could that be an indicator of an androcentric society? Do we live in society that is gynocentric to the same degree?

    Yoda,
I do not know what is dark and hidden. I may need to dwell on it for a bit. With my last comment to Liz, I have to believe that gynocetricism is at the bottom of it.

Cojme to think of it, Greek culture wasn’t completely androcentric. Spartan women had an incredible amount of latitude. It was a standing joke in Athens.

The phenomenon of female exhibitionism as empowering, neatly contrasts with female efforts to criminalize male attention. (That’s why it’s now “sexual assault” on college campuses to look intently at a fully dressed girl at a party — if that girl wants a different boy to stare at her.)

McCain summarizes the absurdity of feminist anti-male hate. Now, someone tell me how to plug Paris Hilton, KK, or any of the millions of the self-published empowered naked chicks on Tumblr, into the dominant feminist attitude that reviles the “male gaze.”

    http://theothermccain.com/2016/05/01/what-trigglypuff-means/

As a practical matter, men just have to know when the male gaze is required, vs. when it’s illegal. Or stop giving a shit. The millenial I was talking with Saturday night, shoving her ta-tas in my face (epic, admittedly) and waving her finger in her age-appropriate boyfriend’s face (“Be good and go talk to them for a few minutes”) said, “I think they’re pretty good too!” Aside from her boyfriend being a combat veteran who outweighs me by 50 pounds, and the fact that her dad is a close friend, no — no ambiguity here, ya, you betcha.

She was loaded, and it was 1:30 a.m., but I was still informed by the experience. When I’ve gone to church or dinner with her family, she is outwardly chaste and deferential to her parents and community. I was shocked at how sexually confident (brazen?) she was with me. This attitude didn’t exist a couple of decades ago. I’m really starting to wonder if I post to this blog from jail some day.

    Empowered.

Farmboy asks “What thoughts do cross the mind of empowered women?”

My answer is something along the lines of what brother Buena Vista and, to a lesser extent, Brother ton was saying yesterday at the Do or Do Not thread.

Empowered women (which for all intents and purposes is “all women” today) just don’t know, and really don’t care to know, what the life of the average or even above-average man is like in the west (particularly the United States).

I know I can speak frankly here, even to the women who partake in these discussions. So please don’t be offended, dear women of this blog, when I say that the same is generally true of each of you.

    It’s getting worse.

Yesterday and the day before I was, ill-advisedly, at two female run blogs where the topic of discussion was

“those autistic, unattractive, wimpy, whiny, afraid of rejection, complaining about nonexistent ‘nuclear rejections’, bitching-about-feminism men of the manosphere, always complaining about women not wanting to marry and men not being able to find marriageable women. If only those men would man up and start acting like men and start asking out women and stop fearing rejection, why, we’d be SO much better off!!”

Men and women understand each other even less than they did 5 years ago when I stumbled across this place. It’s getting worse. Increasingly, the manosphere is seen as a bunch of autistic, spergy, malformed, Cheetos-dusted, poorly socialized, seethingly angry and resentful men who couldn’t finagle a handjob out of a chubby 4. And you know, to a degree, that’s correct. Thing is, those guys KNOW this about themselves. That’s why they’re there in the manosphere and on Reddit’s r/theredpill. If these guys knew how to get girls, they wouldn’t be on the internet trying to figure out how to get girls. They know the problem is with them, with girls and with our fucked up legal and cultural system.

What is going through the minds of empowered women? From what I can see and discern, it has much to do with entitlement, self-absorption, self-centeredness, and near-complete obliviousness to the “real world” and long-term future time orientation. I think it’s something like this:

“I care solely and only about me. I care about hawt guys and getting what I can from them. I don’t really have to worry about money, because I have my own job and my own money, and what I can’t get from them I can eke out of less attractive men and the government.

“I want hawt sex from hawt guys, and I know I can get that whenever I feel like it. But I want those guys to start acting like real men, and giving me the commitment I want, when I want it, in the form that I want it. But I don’t want any of them demanding that I give them anything. Because I shouldn’t have to give them anything.

“I just don’t get why it is that these guys won’t marry me, why they don’t ask, why they fuck me for a few weeks/months and then dump me for someone else. I truly don’t understand it. It must be because of them. The men I want to fuck are bad because they won’t offer me marriage. The men I don’t want to fuck are bad because they want to fuck me and can’t figure out that I don’t want to fuck them. Or for some reason they keep on trying.

“I am a woman, I am powerful, and I should get what I want, and no one has the right to tell me I cannot have what I want.”

That’s what I think is going through the minds of “empowered” women.

  41. Funny how when I was a kid and nude celebrity photos surfaces, the women would be embarrassed and ashamed. Madonna was probably the first to respond to leaked pics from before she was famous with a “so what?” Then shared a whole book of them. Now with the Internet and naked photos/porn videos not being something one has to go to “the naughty store” to get, nudity is both so fetishized and yet pre leant that now it’s empowering. “Look at fabulous meeeee!” Weird.

Another thing about my rant above is this:

Every single goddamn day I come to the redpillsphere, I talk to women who have worked with these red pill concepts for years. They should know better. And yet here we are, going over the same concepts, arguments, statements, counterarguments and counterstatements, over and over and over again.

It’s “I just don’t get how men are blah blah blah” and “why can’t I get commitment” and “why don’t I have a boyfriend” and “men only care about sexual attraction and attractiveness” and “I don’t understand why I can’t have a hawt guy who married me and rubs my feet and does the dishes” and “why does the guy who rubs my feet and does the dishes look like Steve Buscemi” and “why does a guy who looks like Brad Pitt fuck em and chuck em”?

    “Huh?” “How come?”

IT’s because you don’t want to see the truth as it is. It’s because you simply cannot BEAR to look at it. It’s because we turn the rock over to expose the worms and the maggots.

I’ve been through this twice before, once with Sunshine Mary at her old place, and once at Susan Walsh’s Hooking Up Smart 2.0, post Dalrockgate and pre-October 2013 purge. Men and women just cannot talk to each other about this stuff. Even women who should know better revert back to Blue Pill “but um, how come I can’t have what I want” and “I don’t see why I can’t have a hawt guy who rubs my feet and does the dishes and brings me flowers bond with me in holy matrimony”.

You can’t have what you want because Fuckbuddy Rockbanddrummer, Harley McBadboy and Alpha McGorgeous are going to move on to the next girl when they’re done with you or when you start making demands. You can’t have what you want because Louie Lawyer and Eddie Steadyman and Ernie Engineer can bring the beta cucks but they can’t bring the sexy. You can have alpha fucks, or you can have beta cucks. Pick one.

I’m sorry, but that’s just how it is. It is this way because that’s the world women wanted. And powerful men gave women that world because women said they wanted it.

And all of us — women included — need to accept this.

I fear and grieve for my son. He is 9 years old and doesn’t know the hell his forefathers have unleashed on him.

Twenty, 30, 50 years hence, if there is still a United States, will be a world in which most men are not attractive enough to attract and keep the attention of a woman for their lives. Most men will not marry. Most men will not father children, or at least will not be a significant part of their children’s lives in the sense that they live with their kids and have a significant hand in their upbringing. Most men will not know the affection of a woman except when they “get lucky”. Most men’s sex lives as they live through their 20s and well into middle age will resemble their high school sex lives — a few relationships, a few ONS which punctuated years-long dry spells. Most men will live dry, parched sex lives — if they have sex lives at all.

My son will be inculcated with low expectations for women and for his fellow men. I don’t expect to have grandchildren, or a daughter in law. He is a handsome boy. But I don’t want him living his life at the mercy of some woman he knocked up, who holds his children hostage, and simply wrings money out of him. If he has a choice, I’d much prefer he went his own way, and even that he suffered the occasional sexually immoral coupling, than he lives a life separated from his child and seen as little more than a source of money.

    These are bleak, bleak times.

It’s straightforward for so-called RP women to bag a man (though my comment reflects a relationship not designed to produce children). They just don’t want to modify their requirements to reflect the external world and its legal and social infrastructure.

Deti used to advise three qualities that work. I remember two:

    a. be nice
    b. don’t get fat

    Perhaps #3 is

    c. did I mention, be nice?

    To these I add:

    d. love me long time
    e. don’t ask me to mix love and money, again. What’s mine is mine and yours is yours.
    f. I’m not marrying the State again, so we’re going to have to live like Sartre and de Beauvoir. (Or Spencer Tracy and Hepburn, or gay guys pre-gay-State-marriage. Or Ton! and his harem.)

    e. and f. are nonstarters with women today. d. requires a leap of faith.

For a woman to openly assert a-f, she’ll be ostracized and isolated from many, if not most, of her friends. The friends seem to play a larger role in courtship than most adult men can believe, which is a major source of conflict.

I have serial anecdotes to support my thesis but … uggh. Enough of that. Suffice to say, a promise to honor and cherish collapses in value if it doesn’t include assigning a call option on a man’s balance sheet.

It’s remarkable to me how little concern so-called red pill women express about the world awaiting their sons and daughters. Perhaps you have to be older to worry about this, but confronting the fact of losing one’s patrimony, legacy and family tree is a cold, cold Lubyanka breakfast. It will keep you up at night.

thedeti – I agree with all you’ve written and do not take offense to any of it.

my husband and I were actually talking about this a bit at lunch today (I surprised him at work and took him to lunch! was fun when I was able to sneak up behind him and caress the back of his head … he freaked wondering who the heck at the office would do THAT! 🙂 )

anyway … back on topic … we were talking about spawny’s and the discussions out here … following a sad but necessary convo w/his ex wife just after sitting down (friend of son committed suicide 😦 ) … and he asked me how I knew not to be like most other women … his ex wife …those thedeti described. (disclaimer – I am NOT saying i’m perfect, that I’ve never screwed up, that I am innocent in all past ills, etc).

idk the full answer to that. I know I did not want to be like my mother. I know I read my Bible and try to integrate what I read into my life. I know I read and learn and listen and filter out the stupid and try to integrate the right. if something hasn’t worked, I’ve been pretty quick to drop it and look for something that does. I care about my husband and what he wants and needs and do make myself available to him, do commit to him and prove my commitment to him daily (don’t make him assume it), apologize and ask and give forgiveness quickly, do dress and fix myself for him in the ways he, personally, likes (one of the reasons I surprised him at work today was b/c I had a great hair day – one of those days where it looks exactly the way he loves it). I simply care enough about him to choose to want to do the things he likes.

I have never understood anyone who thinks it’s all about them and never sees that if they want and like certain things, then other people do, too … that if they want someone to care for them in the ways they like and need, then others do, too.

and I don’t know why all these women think they need to change everyone BUT themselves. I honestly don’t get that. even when I point it out to them, and they seem to get it, they still often don’t care; it’s still all about them. I don’t like being around them, either.

and I am NOT saying I understand men, what you men are going through, what this world and what women have and are doing to you. I don’t and can’t. but I will say that I don’t like it. it’s wrong.

I took my oldest out to lunch yesterday – it’s the one thing she loves to do one-on-one with me, so I make sure we do it often. the waiter was a bit slow and messed up some things. but I told her … just be kind, be nice, and smile. if he was being a jerk, that would be different. they fixed what was wrong. it was all good. no need to ruin someone’s day over it. grace, mercy, forgiveness … in the measure you would like done to you.

“Last nignt, I said that i would need to dwell on why women are attracted to good looking women on magazines.I don’t have an anaswer. Everytime I tried to contemplate it, brought up a well of despair.”

i will try and explain it to you, but i agree that it’s a very hard concept for men to get b/c it really doesn’t make any logical sense at all … it’s pretty much all an emotional thing.

i’m sure you’ve seen pics of little children playing dress up. little girls will dress up often as princesses. they want the hair and the makeup and the dress and the glitter! it makes them feel pretty, valuable. they get to act it out and feel pretty and special. boys act out, too … but i’m guessing they’re not as much into how it feels as how it does. they get to ‘do’ a pirate, ‘do’ a race-car driver. girls get to ‘feel’ a princess, ‘feel’ like Wendy from Peter Pan. boys would ‘do’ – fly – like Peter Pan.

as we grow up, every single female (it seems) is pointing out either their flaws or ours. so we grow up looking at our ‘fat’ thighs or our ‘too thin’ lips or our ‘not blonde’ hair or our ‘too short’ height. it’s all about our body – evaluating constantly what is right (nothing!) and what is wrong (everything!)

putting hot females on the cover of women’s mags markets to us what we CAN be IF ONLY! and ohhh, we’ve lived our whole lives in “if only!” so, if i buy this mag, and buy that makeup, and buy those clothes, and dye my hair with that hair color, THEN i will look like THAT … and THEN i will FEEL pretty! i will FEEL perfect when i look in the mirror! finally!

    here’s another angle.

if all you guys went out and played a hard game of football in the mud and rain and came into the locker rooms, you’d just all go to the showers and put on clean clothes and leave. there’d be nothing to it. NOT women. if most women had to do that … they’d be thinking and/or saying, “did you see her THIGHS?!” “did you see her BUTT?!” “she definitely wears a push-up bra cause those things are not THAT big!” “OMG! look at my stomach! i’ve got to do 100 crunches tonight and skip breakfast!”

i mean … can you see guys coming out of the locker room going, “Hey dude, did you see his butt?!” “Can you believe his thighs?” that would never cross your minds. you’d probably be going, “Hey, Man! That was a great catch!” “Oh, Man! If he’d just have moved to my right, I’d of had him!”

we’re focusing on our bodies and how our bodies make us feel … and how other women’s bodies make us feel. y’all are focusing on what you did. on the doing thing.

    does this help?

(i know this doesn’t all apply to all men and all women)

    Fuzzie –
okay … you’ve got me thinking about this … so in my mind, i’m going back to the beginning, or where i believe the beginning is as written in the bible – back to where man and woman were created, and then to where woman screwed up … starting in genesis 2:

“15 Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” … 21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. 22 Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.”

now when the woman screwed up in genesis 3:

“Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” 2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’” 4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” 6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.”

    ===

    1. God made Adam.
    2. God gave Adam the order not to eat of that one tree.
    3. God made Eve for Adam.
    4. Adam passed the order down to Eve.
    5. The cunning serpent approached Eve, not Adam.
    6. Eve proved she knew the order not to eat from that one tree.
    7. The cunning serpent tempted her with lies:
    a) God lied – you will not die
    b) God knows when you eat it your eyes will be opened (this is true)
    c) when your eyes are opened, you will be like God (lie)
    d) when your eyes are opened, you will know the difference btw good and evil (true)
    8. Eve saw:
    a) the tree was good for food – even though they had plenty of food and did not need it.
    b) the tree was pleasant to look at – even though every other tree was, too.
    c) the tree was desirable to make her wise – even though she already had whatever wisdom she needed.
    d) so, she took it – even though Adam ordered her not to, even though she knew the order came from God.
    e) and she ate it, even though Adam ordered her not to, even though she knew the order came from God.
    9. Adam just ate what she gave him.

so … the woman was manipulated by half-truths and lies. she was manipulated by the implication that – EVEN THOUGH she knew it was wrong, and EVEN THOUGH she already had the best – she still believed there was MORE, BETTER, than what she had. and even knowing exactly what was ordered her by the man, and knowing the order came from the highest level, God, she did it anyway … b/c her emotions were manipulated to believe the lie.

    ===

so, in today’s world. how many wives honestly believe their husband’s when their husband tells her he loves her body and that she’s beautiful to him? very few.

how many women need continuous confirmation that their body is good enough? most all.

b/c they’re manipulated by their emotions … to look around … see what others have that she doesn’t … the things she cannot have b/c she wasn’t given them. but she sees … and it looks good, is pleasant to look at, is desirable, will make her more attractive and therefore smarter and happier. she knows the truth, but she rejects it for the lie.

so even when she buys that magazine, does all those workouts, diets, buys the makeup, colors her hair, buys the clothes – all to make her look better, be more desirable and attractive and therefore smarter and happier, she finds it was all a lie. but she still wants to believe it, so she keeps doing the same stupid things and is never satisfied … because she thinks … if i can just have *her* butt (so she’s staring at it trying to figure out how to mold hers to look like that one) … if i can just have those boobs, so she pays for them … if i can just have _____, THEN i will finally be ‘all that’ and more. but it’s empty so it never satisfies her. never.

i know men just want to shake women and tell them to stop! i’ve heard lots of men tell their wives they’re beautiful only for the wife to turn around and say she’s not b/c her thighs are too small, too big, etc, etc. and he does not care what she thinks of her body b/c he loves it, it turns him on, he wants it, he wants to see it all the time.

i think that at some point women just have to stop and *choose* to believe the truth. is the truth that some need to get healthier and in better shape? sure. but even that is not enough for some women. they are never satisfied, never happy, never content with what they’ve got – they always want what another has. until they choose, make a conscious, non-emotional choice, to just stop.

At one point, a few decades back Cosmo almost went broke and sales were down. They started putting the full body of women on the front cover in something skimpy instead of just the face, and the magazine’s popularity soared from just that one change.

Not that men aren’t worthy of gazing upon but it’s different…somehow. Play girl was never nearly as popular as Playboy, despite the 50/50 demo split. And it probably even had images of beautiful women in there, between the beefcake.

Studies show even infants recognize and are drawn to images of beautiful women. Beyond sex women represent sustenance, nurturing, love, the supposedly unconditional love of the “perfect” mom. I suppose it’s a type of Godess worship? But I think it’s normal and natural, although can also be used manipulatively such as in ads/media.

The Dems are not going to run Bernie in the general. That’s just not going to happen. I know the Berniebots won’t like it, but there it is. The Dems are the party in power now; they are more popular than the Repubs in this idiocracy of a country. The dems will make the Berniebots get in line and support Queen Hill. Who the fuck else are they going to vote for? In the end, they WILL pull the lever and fill in the oval for the Hill.

It’s her turn, by God. She waited patiently for 4 years while she was shown up by a black man who had been an obscure Illinois state senator a scant 5 years before his election to the presidency, and didn’t even serve 2 years of a 6 year US Senate term. And by God, the Dems WILL pay for that, and they’ll pay by giving her the nod. Plus, Bill wants access to all that prime DC poon again.

Bernie is a nut even by Dem standards. He’s more popular than Hillary; he’s even more liked and likable. But he’s still a nut. Even the Dems know the $$ isn’t there to pay for Bernie’s pipe dreams of single payer health care and free college for all. Even the Dems know you can’t increase the federal tax burden any more than has already been done.

Funny thing…when it all came out they actually had a team of journalists out there interviewing pilots for something unrelated. This was right when the whole “scandal” came out. So all he had to do was work “I pumped Lewinsky” into his interview and he could’ve been one of the most famous people on the planet (at least, for a brief time). He didn’t of course.

It’s not desperate, Bloom, and not a practice of desperate women. It’s how women communicate their desire, among other things. In the last year I’ve received them from

    a. nuclear facility security engineering officer
    b. a surgeon/mba/hospital board member
    c. a married restaurant owner/yoga shop operator
    d. a USA diplomat/CIA (probably) operative
    e. an mba/ph.d management consultant
    f. a 22 year-old college senior
    g. a corporate SVP
    h. another corporate SVP

I’m sure there were others but whatever. These are not “desperate” women, they’re alpha females.

This is mainstream behavior. Men didn’t invent this behavior, and men don’t sponsor or “manipulate” it. A priori, then, unless one asserts that we today already inhabit Hell (a reasonable assumption, perhaps) this is not “desperate.” Tumblr and Instagram exist for a reason: women like those platforms and what they contain. It doesn’t matter that NAWALT, or that so-and-so would never do that, or that the same women would never admit to doing it.

What’s funny is that the OP is about female exhibitionism, how it delivers status and “empowerment” to women, generating millions of admirers. And a day later we’re learning that Eve was a manipulated victim and only “desperate” women practice mainstream, Kardashian “empowerment.” I’m all for Team Woman, Team Woman has been berry, berry good, to me. I’m curious why it’s so meaningful to deny reality, however.

Deti, I haven’t seen any pundits discuss this or even seem to grasp it. (Perhaps I’m wrong and there’s nothing to grasp.) But nearly 100% of mainstream media types see their job as getting HIllary elected. Hillary is so insulated by this protective media bubble, as well as the bubble (financial, social, and demographic) she has created for herself, that I don’t think either she or her media friends understand *that Trump is not going to play by the rules.” I really don’t think she will have any idea what to do when he starts focusing on her actual resume and behavior. I suppose they’ll double down on “you’re such a sexist pig” but we’re a little late in history for that card, and besides, you want a sexist pig? His name is Bill.

The rules that the DC political and media clerisy follow are that blue pill behavior will pedestalize Hillary, never challenge her public lies, evasions, and deceits; will never ask, “What the fuck has this woman ever accomplished, besides getting people killed?”, and will never say something as simple as “Do you really want to listen to this shrieking, adenoidal scold for the next 8 years?” Republicans, according to the rules, must honor Team Woman and lose gracefully. Jeb would have been perfect.

I’m confident Cruz would refuse to compete with her, that Kasich would refuse to compete with her. Sanders already has by refusing to call attention to her obvious failures and felonies. The Trumpster will no doubt go too far in his smack talk but … people will cheer.

Lewinsky never seemed ashamed or guilty when she degraded herself by allowing the leader of the free world to basically masturbate into her mouth and onto her clothes, and by using her as a humidor. (Hell, she didn’t even get sex or cunny out of it.) She had the audacity to claim she was in love with Clinton; and then accused him of being caddish and insensitive because he felt badly about “being caught” and publicly disavowed her as “that woman, Miss Lewinsky”.

She was indignant that others judged her because she, well, allowed herself to be used sexually. She remains unrepentant to this day… she appears to believe she didn’t do anything wrong; nor that she bears any responsibility for her life or her predicament.

If Monica Lewinsky had stayed away from the president, she’d be a suburban housewife in NYC or LA right now with two teenage kids. The biggest controversy she’d have in her life would be the color of napkins to select for the Junior League banquet.

The first was submitted by Anon and she is Meghann Foye, a woman who is demanding that companies give her (and other childless women) maternity leave. Foye calls this “meternity” leave. This sounds like something that would not be woman specific, but as you would expect she is already trying to weasel her way to making “meternity” women only. In other words, not only is it a demand on employers, but also male coworkers since men would have to do extra work to cover her (additional) lack of work.

The second was submitted by email and is a Swedish woman who tried to have a man arrested for (allegedly) farting. In Sweden, What happened was that the Swedish woman refuses to have sex with a man she met. He (allegedly) farts immediately after that and leaves. The woman calls the police to try to get him arrested because the fart disturbed her “peace of mind”. Fortunately, the police said no crime was committed and did not arrest the man.

Fuzzie, the women who openly flirted with me and pursued me were lonely divorced women with kids and women who say their husbands won’t have sex with them.

You can say these women shouldn’t have frivorced their husbands, or whatever.

These women flirted/pursued me because they are lonely, they wanted attention and validation, they wanted to feel desired and loved, and they wanted affirmation that they still can get attention from men. In other words, they want to feel like young women again. They want to experience the feeling of sexual power again. They want to remember what it was like just to show up somewhere and have men falling all over themselves for a chance to get with them.

Women crave male attention. They absolutely love it. Hence women of a certain age heading back to the carousel for one last glory ride. Hence women playing the facebook video game, posting pics and scoring “likes” and “Loves” and comments like “you look good!” and “Beautiful!” from beta orbiters.

Off topic. TLDR: White knight witnesses public domestic dispute involving man brandishing and firing weapon. WK retrieves his own firearm and attempts to stop the dispute in progress; orders fleeing man to stop. Man gets head shot on WK and kills him.

Lesson 1: Do not white knight for women involved in domestic disputes, even when said dispute involves the discharge of firearms and you yourself have a firearm.

Lesson 2: If you are confronting an armed person who is acting as aggressor and firing on others, you shoot to kill first. If you have a firearm and you intend to use it to stop another armed person, it is game on. Do not warn, do not issue verbal orders. Have your firearm drawn, and you shoot to kill.

Lesson 3: If the aggressor is no longer an aggressor and is retreating, do not issue orders to stop even if you are armed and prepared to confront. Let the person retreat and do not reengage.

“Eve wasn’t manipulated. Eve just broke the law.”

    yes.

if i understand Fuzzie correctly, he was trying to understand why women ‘break the law.’ yes, Eve broke the law. what led her to do that? caused her to do that? she chose to allow herself to be manipulated. when women are manipulated, it’s not the fault of the manipulator, but their own fault for choosing to allow someone to manipulate them. like it says in James 1:14 “But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.” Even was tempted. Eve chose to be drawn away by her own desires and enticed. Eve chose to allow that to give birth to sin. Eve chose to eat the forbidden fruit.

Eve’s choice is not the serpent’s fault. Eve’s choice is not Adam’s fault. Eve’s choice is all Eve’s fault. her choice; her fault.

  207. The other night I got involved in a domestic dispute but didnt think about how stupid it probably was until after. My neighbor girl, 16, lives w her brother and grandpa as a foster kid bc her mom is a royal mess. Gpa is not much better. When gma died about two years back, the girl went from little miss perfect to scowling, black dyed hair, dropout. Boys over all the time. Lately there’s been screaming matches and fist cuffs in the street, police on multiple occasions. Two nights ago I hear her screaming as I was putting the kids to bed so I went out to see. I find her ranting in the street w an empty can, they boy had flex. I physically restrain her to try and calm her down. Boy returns to try and get his car. She breaks free and starts punching him in the face (he’s in the driver seat) while screaming, “dont leave me you asshole” etc. I pull her off, put her in a headlock, and walk her ass home, lecturing her the whole way that she’s got to get it together and quit making a fool of herself. She tries to give me the “hard life” reasoning, I tell her so what, no excuse, it’s her choice to make a life for herself now, rise above, be better than that. I deposited her at home and she ran inside just as the police show up. After it was done I realized it was stupid to intervene and I could have gotten hurt or worse, but the momma bear in me just kicked in. I hope she thinks over what I said. What a mess. I plan to check in on her wi the next few days, continue the conversation. Blech. Sad.

i hope it does some good for her, too. i’m sure you made an impression of both her and that boy – one they will each probably never forget.

teenagers sometimes need a sharp slap in the face and someone to stand up and tell them the truth – stop being such a jerk … you’re screwing up your life … take responsibility. good for you for doing that. she needed to hear it. our brains are not fully developed till our 20’s, but teenagers think they know enough while deep inside knowing they really don’t.

not exactly the same, but my aspie girl used to have frequent meltdowns where she needed to be physically restrained. when it was over she would often thank me b/c she knew somewhere in her mis-firing brain that she needed the help. i made her feel safe and loved and gave her hope. the physical restraint does something positive to their brain.

Women everywhere mostly generate y went nuts over her having a good bikini body. They tore down the ads Protein World tried to get them for destroying property. … just some really nutty behavior all because they hated her beauty and being fit and being held up as an ideal.

I was just telling my husband this morning about a university that had to apologize for a cheerleader poster that severely offended the students. There were so many complaints about how it was trying 2 direct girls that wanted to tryout giving them instructions for how to do their hair makeup, being fit, what to wear etc. I saw some of the complaints. .. they were angry that she was white, blonde, and pretty.

So… I know it’s normal to think that women naturally love to look at beautiful women… but I think that is changing. From what I’ve seen there are many women (not overweight either) who actually hate seeing that because it’s become a beauty standard.

Those two instances that you mentioned, Protein World and the cheerleader poster, may help prove the point. What is different about them is that they were in full public view where men could see them. That had to be what triggered the femiist jealous rage. If they were to be found in a format only seen by women, I don’t think that there would be much complaining.
Feminists want to find a wa to dictate to men what is beautiful or desirable. To that end, they can dream on. Part of growing up is learning that some things are beyond your control.

DF, you’re confusing SJW Professional Outrage with popular sentiment. SJW’s achieve status if not money by screaming about this or that, and particularly on a campus like U of Washington, achieve their goal of no-platforming (via heckler veto) people they disagree with. But they represent a tiny minority of the larger communities they bully.

There will be 70,000 people watching UW football and its cheerleaders in the fall; if Miss Trigglypuff get’s paid to talk to the university’s Women’s Confused Gender Majors, she’ll be lucky to pull 100. Similarly, Protein World’s sales went up after the feminist SJWs went into full shriek mode.

Target recently tried to score SJW points by announcing trans-friendly restrooms (i.e., allowing self-described trans-women to use their ladies rooms). It was an effort to virtue-signal the noble progressive retail chain. Within seven days, the company lost $2.5B of market cap.

On a tiny number of SJWs on the campus working to dissolve masculinity:

“The young women forming the mostly passive, malleable mass of the safe space brigades may be as Paglia describes, but they are being manipulated by women–faculty, administrators and other students–who most certainly know what they are doing. Motivated by varying combinations of egotism, narcissism and resentment, these women are realizing their will to power, smashing their way through the termite-eaten structures of our colleges and universities, having figured out of them what Hitler figured out of the Soviet Union: just kick in the door and the whole rotten structure will come crashing down.

“Teenage women arriving on college campuses are as impressionable as teenagers always have been, and they are being herded on arrival into safe space pens for captive bolt stunning by a relatively small coterie of disciplined, motivated adults, who train them to start Reichstag fires so that the coterie can demand additional emergency powers, in a cycle that won’t end until they have created a desert and call it social justice. Because as Nietzsche said: they would rather will nothingness than not will.

“It is these women (and their useful male idiots) who must be disempowered in order to liberate everyone else.”

    http://www.mindingthecampus.org/2016/05/masculinity-is-being-dissolved-on-campus/

The larger crisis is the supine nature of the majority, who quiver in the face the hurled insult from lurid caricatures such as Trigglypuff and her Women’s Studies profs.

Obviously the same dynamic exists in society at large, and perhaps explains why no one seems to be able to understand why Trump is romping.

I heard an anecdote that was pretty funny (or cringeworthy….a little of each I’d say).
    It’s kind of on topic.
We’ve been neighbors with a fighter pilot friend with the callsign Lola (not his real callsign, or it would be a different story) for about a year, but I never knew how he got his handle. Mike told me the story this morning.

When “Lola” was in the Marines he was an Lt dating another Lt Marine (named Lola, again not her real name). She was (allegedly) very hot and also kind of kinky and wild. She wanted to videotape most of their encounters. Then she went on a deployment and he thought it would be thoughtful to put together a mix of songs on her iPod as well as some of their “best scenes” together that she could take with her.

Ipods were sort of new then, and she had no idea that there weren’t just songs but videos as well. She handed the ipod to a crew chief and asked him to play some songs. He scrolls through, sees the videos and proceeds to download the entire thing.

He also had to deploy a few months later and by the time he got there, everyone in Balad had seen his video.
That’s the first thing anyone said to him….”Wait a minute, you’re that guy…”
They ended up being neighbors on a ship and she wouldn’t speak to him.
    She blamed him for it.

BV – there is nothing in me that can understand women doing that. however, i do remember girls all the time finding ways to be naked in public growing up in a beach community where we lived in bathing suits much of the year – long b4 we had the capability of recording anything. i guess it’s just the same thing in a different form. no sense of dignity or value of self.

True BV, and yes, I loved seeing the support for Protein World increase financially, as well as Target’s loss of stock 😀 this is a win considering how many people (including Christians) are still going to support Target. I think it reflects the older generations however, that actually do have stock in Target or can see clearly when it comes to fitness ads.

But in the gen y age group, so many of them are still supporting Target, Starbucks, and Barnes & Noble. A lot of my friends are still going to shop there without any guilt, and I’ve seen countless Christian bloggers and Christian magazine articles urging us to just hold our bladders and think of showing them “Jesus.” I’ve seen friends who shame the Christians who are going to boycott, because that’s “unloving,” and “ridiculous.” I’m a minority in my age-group, BV… I know very few Christian women even that are actually going to go through with boycotting Target. Most of the ones I know are gen x (35-45) and baby boomers and older. I think, at the very least, this younger generation, is different when it comes to rationalization of morals and free speech, etc. Standing for morals or even free speech is discouraged. There are way less Christians in this age-range anyway, but even the Christians aren’t standing firm.

Most of the female Christians I know would agree that Protein World’s ad isn’t helping the female body image problems, so they would never publicly support it on their facebook because deep down, they feel uncomfortable with it. Even my best friend of 25 years that is fit and healthy herself, actually body-shamed me when I lost the baby weight “too fast.” She said I was shaming women who aren’t able to do that, that talking about it or posting about the weightloss process is inappropriate. So its inappropriate to celebrate fitness openly according to many in our generation because they’re so concerned with making people “feeeel bad about themselves.” A ton of my gen y friends sided with not liking Protein World’s poster… and they don’t self-identify (or really fall into) what the manosphere thinks of as SJWs. They were conservative Christian females that are actually very feminist in thinking.

    truly a very bizarre moment!

and his sister was younger … probably 12? it was just sooo weird.

i mean … if mom had wanted to do that for her husband, okay. but to bring in adolescent daughter … and then show them to son’s girlfriend. just … weird.

Well, I consider them all dignified and they are certainly all highly valued.

Perhaps we should pass a law making it illegal for men to receive nude selfies, if a woman later regrets sending them. Much as it is illegal for men to have consensual sex under affirmative consent if the woman later decides it was icky (or he dumps her for one of her girlfriends).

There’s tremendous common cause between the anti-sex right, usually wrapping themselves in the flag of Jesus, and feminist left. Their common cause is the suppression and control of male sexuality.

A lot of the body shaming stuff is about women pressuring other women to join the “let yourself go” crowd. If you are attractive, you are a threat, on some primitive level. Women are both herd based yet secretly highly competitive. That’s why women tend to hang out w other women of about their own (or slightly lower) smv.

Sadly I see even the girls in my daughter’s preschool already angling for the “prettiest” spot. It’s inborn in the female psyche, bc deep down they know (but don’t like) that it is so critical in mate selection, social rank, options, etc.

  267. @ DF, so long as you were not risking your or your baby’s health or were not doing anything radical to get there, I don’t see the issue. In that case, yes, not much of a friend or perhaps she was influenced by others who were saying that to her? Hard to say…

I was extremely lucky w pregnancy in that it somehow “kicked on” my metabolism vs. the other way around. I was eating like crazy and yet had trouble putting on enough weight, my Dr. actually told me to eat a take out hot fudge sundae every day (and I did!) I barely gained the 25 pounds and after delivery was at or below the weight I was at when I conceived. The doc actually asked me if I was secretly dieting or exercising compulsively, of course I laughed bc heck no, not my style! Lol. Then when nursing (I nursed both into toddlerhood, tmi) I also had the blessed luck to be able to chow down like a teen boy and still barely keep weight on. Sadly, after nursing quit. my metabolism returned to normal and I have to watch it or I can gain weight pretty easy. Everyone is different but when a gal puts on 70+ pounds in pregnancy, I wonder how the heck????? But then again my Dr. (a super cool gal, the best!) said not all are so lucky so perhaps it is the reverse for some. I realized too late I was born to be pregnant, since I didn’t start till 33 then had the second at 40! Lol.

  269. So as long I am over sharing, why did I put off having kids so long when I married at 23? Bc I had been told my whole life to put it off as long as possible or I would miss out on life, by just about everyone, as long as I can remember. Well, that was a load of hooey, I have come to see. I wish now I had more. Children are a blessing, not a curse. Anyone who says differently needs their head examined!

And actually now that I think about it, while men are being accused of being Peter Pan’s who won’t grow up, perhaps that is projection? Maybe it’s women who are the ones delaying adolescence by waiting until their mid to late 30’s to become women? (Moms not maidens?) hummm…. And who is advising such? The women who should be guiding the youngers…. Interesting….

The female version of the blue pill… Women have been led astray just as men have, in a different but equally unnatural way…

I think that that’s fair. Maybe one difference is that men get mislead into being disposable cogs in the society’s machine. Women are unleashed as sand in the machinery, the odd wrench thrown in too, maybe a spray of acid rather than oil.

That’s awesome, Bloom! And no I definitely wasn’t doing anything crazy, I didn’t really work out with this last pregnancy as much as I wanted to, but still didn’t gain that much (my doctor was always on me to gain more weight too! Which my husband and I both thought was really weird lol). I’ve always had a horrible metabolism, though… I’ve been a runner since I was 12 :/ to try to combat weight gain and keep in shape.

And yes, breastfeeding is awesome – besides all the health benefits for you and baby (it actually makes women feel happier and more content!) its just wonderful getting to snuggle them and hold them and nourish them that intimately… and the affection helps them too. We were at a park last summer and I saw a family with a couple of older children and an infant sit down to eat and they propped up a bottle for the baby to drink in their carrier and proceeded to totally ignored it and dug into their food. Their older kids were overweight and looked not so happy themselves :/ and I was sad that the baby wasn’t getting the cuddling and kissing and reassurance that they’re so worth the extra affection – granted this was just one look at their family… maybe they were too tired, but the vibe they gave off was that they couldn’t care less about that baby needing to be held. ugh!!!

  272. Indeed, DF. I was by no means dead set on nursing, but I figured I would try to make it to the three month mark at least. However once I saw how much my oldest enjoyed that closeness and cuddling and nurturing, and the fact that she would have NOTHING to do with a bottle, I just kept going until the kids themselves decided it was time to stop. I never expected it to last into their 2nd year, and I got a lot of grief from people who offered their unsolicited advice that it was “time to wean” as they approached the one year mark and even more so after, I just ignored it and went with my maternal instinct. It seemed like the most normal and natural thing in the world. Being shy, I was always super discreet about it (it kind of bothers me when women get all militant about it) The biggest opponents? Women who were a generation or two older then me, surprisingly! They had been taught the bottle was best, nursing was disgusting, it would “tie me down,” ruin my body, and all sorts of fem bull. The biggest encouragers? Overwhelmingly men! How ironic is that?

When you’re nice or shy, people seem to take advantage of giving you more unsolicited advice unfortunately… almost like you’re a target for their criticism (maybe its because they think they’ll be safe from being criticized back? I don’t know). But yes! I’ve had that same experience with older women at times, too – discouraging being “too close” to your baby or “spoiling them!!!!” It kind of blows my mind because you’d expect them to know better!

I’m a baby teacher in our church nursery, and one of the older ones happened to be in my room for a short time and told me recently that I was holding one of the babies (that was upset and missed his mom – it was his first time with us) “too much.” I just continued to hold him and kind of ignored her because she didn’t say it in a way to invite discussion but rather just to criticize. She’s thankfully not my boss 🙂 my boss there is wonderful and trusts me, and this baby needed it (first time there and all). The older lady that’s been teaching her class longer also said I should just call his parents immediately, but that just seems to hostile and I want them to know that we’re going to work hard to make their babies feel welcomed.

I’ve learned from doing this enough that this is how I can make them happy enough to eventually love coming to Bible class which is really our goal.

But yea… overwhelmingly, men seem to not be like that (some I’m sure are, but most would never promote not cuddling and nurturing children).
