Emasculated Liars

To quote Theodore Dalrymple,

“In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, not to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is…in some small way to become evil oneself. One’s standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.”

The obvious question is, “Does this apply to feminism”?  And the obvious answer would be “Yes”.  For feminism is really just a branch of Marxism, “From each man according to his ability, to each woman according to her need (especially with respect to tingles)”.

The latest obvious case of emasculated liars would be the ROTC fellas walking in red high heel shoes.  Before that are others, NFL players wearing pink shit, being extra careful what you say around the office, being subjected to anti-harassment silliness everywhere you go, etc.  Notice that through all of this, men are forced to to repeat the lies themselves, and they lose once and for all their sense of probity.

The present battleground seems to be on campus.  The goal is to take away due process for men.  This would be the ultimate in emasculation, allowing liars to tell falsehoods unabated.  To quote Lenin, “What should be done”?

Here is more on Theodore Dalrymple,

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theodore_Dalrymple

His writing has some recurring themes.

The cause of much contemporary misery in Western countries – criminality, domestic violence, drug addiction, aggressive youths, hooliganism, broken families – is the nihilistic, decadent and/or self-destructive behaviour of people who do not know how to live. Both the smoothing over of this behaviour, and the medicalisation of the problems that emerge as a corollary of this behaviour, are forms of indifference. Someone has to tell those people, patiently and with understanding for the particulars of the case, that they have to live differently.

Poverty does not explain aggressive, criminal and self-destructive behaviour. In an African slum you will find among the very poor, living in dreadful circumstances, dignity and decency in abundance, which are painfully lacking in an average English suburb, although its inhabitants are much wealthier.

An attitude characterised by gratefulness and having obligations towards others has been replaced – with awful consequences – by an awareness of “rights” and a sense of entitlement, without responsibilities. This leads to resentment as the rights become violated by parents, authorities, bureaucracies and others in general.

One of the things that makes Islam attractive to young westernised Muslim men is the opportunity it gives them to dominate women.

Technocratic or bureaucratic solutions to the problems of mankind produce disasters in cases where the nature of man is the root cause of those problems.
It is a myth, when going “cold turkey” from an opiate such as heroin, that the withdrawal symptoms are virtually unbearable; they are in fact hardly worse than flu.

Criminality is much more often the cause of drug addiction than its consequence.
Sentimentality, which is becoming entrenched in British society, is “the progenitor, the godparent, the midwife of brutality”.

High culture and refined aesthetic tastes are worth defending, and despite the protestations of non-judgmentalists who say all expression is equal, they are superior to popular culture.

The ideology of the Welfare State is used to diminish personal responsibility. Erosion of personal responsibility makes people dependent on institutions and favours the existence of a threatening and vulnerable underclass.

Moral relativism can easily be a trick of an egotistical mind to silence the voice of conscience.

Multiculturalism and cultural relativism are at odds with common sense.

The decline of civilised behaviour – self-restraint, modesty, zeal, humility, irony, detachment – ruins social and personal life.

The root cause of our contemporary cultural poverty is intellectual dishonesty. First, the intellectuals (more specifically, left-wing ones) have destroyed the foundation of culture, and second, they refuse to acknowledge it by resorting to the caves of political correctness.
Beyond and above all other nations in the world, Britain is the place where all the evils summarised above are most clearly manifest.

  21. The quote from that author is spot on in so many ways. Poverty and criminality, for example. I visited China in the late 1990s and saw people living along the Yangtzee River who were materially absolutely destitute. But yet they were seemingly content and there seemed a sense of community and connection wholly lacking in most American life. Were they truly poor? Or were they richer, in an important way, than many Americans may never know?

If she does, the challenge will be from the left. Anyway, she rose through the law professor ranks very easily and quickly via the affirmative action gravy train by being Indian, that is, Native American. Though as far back as anybody can trace her ancestry, which was many generations back, nobody can find any Indian anywhere. She of course claims that her mother sometime, somewhere stated that there was Indian in her background. And like Hillary’s claim to be named after Sir Edmund, the media believes her.

Yes, but that’s ultimately a very small price to pay for one’s principles.
Especially when one is planning on going into a career field that will require risk of life (and the lives of others). Those kinds of sacrifices of one’s principles versus dying with one’s metaphorical boots on will come up again and again in that type of job path. Mike is OUT of active duty for this reason…he could have stayed in and pursued the status quo. We’ve been in all sorts of situations where we’ve had to sacrifice something…time, money, career options, ect for principles (what’s right over what’s easy). And others have done it a lot more.

At the end of the day, similar to the ‘Architecture of fear’ piece, in this case it wouldn’t have taken much other than a couple of people refusing (and contacting the media anonymously). The vast, vast, vast majority of folks do not think it was a good thing for military men in BDUs to be strongarmed into walking in pink girl shoes.

Yeah, free speech case from over 20 years ago–back in my anti-abortion activist days. Charged with picketing a church–class E felony since it could involve over a year jail time.

Was convicted in municipal, appealed to state, convicted in state district court, appealed to the CoA, the case was removed to state supreme court where the conviction in state district court was overturned on the evidence. Big slap in the face to the district court judge. I could have sued the city and state for unlawful detention. I spent a lot of time on the case.

I was also involved in the pro se movement and helped spring an anti-abortion protestor after he was held illegally in jail by the judge for weeks. I wrote a pro-bono brief to the US Supreme Court for the prisoner, gave him the brief, he filed it and I concurrently delivered a habeas corpus to the judge’s secretary, which was the safe thing to do. (If I followed procedure and delivered the habeas in his court, why wouldn’t he just lock me up and ignore the habeas?) I mentioned the habeas in the Supreme Court appeal docs. The USSC started questioning what was going on and the judge admitted receiving the habeas through his secretary, whereupon he was ordered to release the prisoner.

My mother observed that I have a first-rate legal mind. Not sure if I like that…heh.

Seriously, if anybody needs legal help, holler at me.

They are actually very docile at this stage, i can walk right up to the ball no problem. So I have been watching out for them until help arrives. 68. Fuzzie,we successfully captured the new swarm. My friend, who I forget bc we live in a rural area and know each other well, is actually an internationally recognized bee expert, kind of a Jane Goodall of bees. I video taped while she collected the bee ball, then the Bloomettes joins in once it was 80% done. My friend was super excited to get this swarm from a “wild hive” that has been here 30+ years. Genetic diversity is very limited with kept bees apparently, so “feral” swarms are prized. My friend autographed a copy of her new book for the Bloomettes as we packed the captured bees into her car. My youngest remarked “why is she so old?” While watching my friend, in her early 60s, collect the ball. I hope she did not take offense. I told the girls after that while youth is indeed a powerful time in a woman’s life, so are the elder years and that they could learn much from her! Maybe someday I will get a jar of honey from “my” bees. I hope they settle in and thrive in their new home. Buzzzzzzzzzzz. 😀

  70. @fuzzie indeed! I don’t know much about bee keeping except I leave mine alone to do their thing. My hive swarms several times a year (apparently a sign of happy bees!) but this is the first time I have tried to capture them. Last year a guy showed up, pounding on the door, in full gear, I thought it was some haz mat thing, but he apparently was a bee keeper, spotted a bee ball on my place, collected it, then asked if he could take it. Since he seemed so prepared, i felt the bees were safe w him. After that, I figured maybe letting bee enthuiasts in on my hive swarms might protect them from getting the bug spray treatment from someone who doesn’t know.

Apparently “modern” bee keeping practices are completely out of synch w how bees live naturally. Queens are bred from a small genetic sub set then swapped in randomly in kept hives. This is just part of the problem but “feral” bees are apparently the hope for the future. Wo bees pollinating and doing what they do, food sources would be depleted wi 4 years. Colony collapse disorder is just one threat, pesticides, bad bed keeping practices, gmo crops, and more are apparently killing many many hives. Not good.

Honey is naturally antibiotic, anti viral, anti bacterial. It can heal non healing sounds, eaten raw honey can ward off viral and bacterial illness. Pretty cool.

And I hear bears like it, too!

I have wild swarms here too, and a trusted guy who takes them away. They make Manuka honey for him, and he gives me as many jars as I ask for. I like Manuka honey better than clover. Bears would go crazy over it.

Hey Fuzzy a genuinely ursine bear would travel across a continent to get near some of that country honey. Just saying’.

LOL’ing at what is going on in Baltimore. It’s what they do, all the time, the only question is size of the event. Cannot expect differently at this point in time.
