The first line of Wikipedia’s entry on drama is as follows,
Drama is the specific mode of fiction represented in performance.
Perhaps it is unfair to associate this with women’s penchant for creating what is commonly termed “drama”, but then again, perhaps it is fair. So what is “drama” in women?
From a typical fella’s perspective, it is the creation of unnecessary relationship action (often with heightened tension) for the sake of satisfying a woman’s desire to be relieved from boredom. Any women out there who would beg to differ, please chime in with your perspective. Notice the word unnecessary. That is the big thing from a fella’s perspective. Men are taught to get things done, and are expected to do so from an early age. Unneeded relationship hassles are not conducive to getting things done.
Also notice that the part about relieving her boredom. Men for the most part have no real objection to this. But they would prefer that women find some other way to do so. That way, the women are only wasting their own time. Perhaps things would be different if men thought of drama as somehow fun. But this is almost never the case, at least with real men (perhaps Pajama Boy might find drama endearing).
Today on the way out from work walking down the sidewalk I heard two women blabbing about a third women that they knew. The original question was whether she should leave her husband or stay in the marriage for the sake of the children. This is a very serious question, but how were they considering it? They were emphasizing the “drama” aspects of it. Stuff about the “back and forth” of the marital tension. Was there any consideration of the moral aspects? Perhaps of what might be best for the children? I think that we know the answer.
Addendum:
It seems that there are three main reasons for women doing drama
1. Boredom
2. Shit Tests
3. Malice
In the original post I effectively gave women the benefit of the doubt with respect to motivations, but it seems that many commenters believe that some women just like to make men miserable.
Farm Boy,
There is an old saying about “adventure”. It takes place far away a long time ago.
That is how men wish to deal with adventure and drama-far away and long ago.
The two women on the sidewalk are not good friends to the third. It does bring up a point. Peer pressure is strong among women. They can torpedo the marriage. It shouldn’t be that way.

Hmm. This is where I should take a look at jf12 which, according to theasdgamer, goes “on and on about how some women have personality disorders that cause them to be happy if they cause grief to a man”. I have no personal experience of this, but I have seen two women get happiness out of causing grief to their men. They did it out of hatred, not so much for their husbands in particular as for the entire male gender. Much drama there was.

So women do drama out of boredom AND malice?

I will say in the past year + I have been following the manosphere, I cannot recall on single blog or male commenter on a blog say they love drama or find it attractive/appealing/endearing.
That said, even I fall prey to women drama at times, although I try to extract myself quick! It’s apparently a “girl” thing. Women are much more dependant on the “tribe” so that makes sense even tho it clearly was never intended to function at reality TV drama level.

I suspect that my divorce was largely caused by drama seeking work colleagues after my pretty newly wed wife changed jobs. Her mother probably helped it along. Accepting her tall tales credulously. By the time her parents started waking up to her dramatic fantasies and listening to me, my wife had done things that ended the marriage. I fucking love drama, me.

I’ve overheard these types of conversations too, and the thing that always strikes me is how much they sound like highschool. I knew a young woman a few years back (ended up divorced, like her other friends, divorce is catchy in herds) who would complain about her husband like he was an annoying boyfriend.
“He doesn’t like it when I phone other guys/keep in touch with my ex on Facebook”.
She had a toddler aged child…wtf was she doing flirting around with other guys?
Then she demanded a divorce and complained that he was mad and didn’t want to pay for her college or watch the baby when she went to classes. Imagine that! She was in her mid-twenties, but she could have been 13 as far as emotional maturity/responsibility.
These women are seriously developmentally delayed.

The “rape culture” meme, “street harassment” meme, frivorce craze are all related to this need for drama. It funds the psych industry and a large portion of the legal and (hat tip, Swithy on reality peep shows) entertainment industry.
I wonder how much of our GDP is invested in women’s need for drama? Probably more than even our healthcare industry.

Looking at the SJWs in SFF, Gamergate, MetalGate, the manginas in education…I think that there’s an epidemic of mental issues. And not temporary ones, not ones you just say “it was just a phase i was going through, I’m all right now”. There appear to be large numbers of people with difficulty in recognising reality, logic, morality and consequences…and immense apparent self hatred that they insist we all should partake of.

She sent him scented letters,

Just like his wife
But how she was before the tears,
And how she was before the years flew by,
And how she was when she was beautiful.
She signed the letter
“All yours,
Babooshka, Babooshka, Babooshka-ya-ya!

She wanted to take it further,

Sorry for interrupting there, Fuzzy. I wonder what % goes to women overall. Take the cost of the State as hubby- daddy and white knight in divorce and DV. Add on the extra expenditure on girls in education (special math programs, $36000 USD per year per female engineering student for just turning up at classes) and what have we got?

On Channel 9 a Police spokesman, when asked why the police didn’t do a better job of monitoring a known dangerous criminal (the gunman in the hostage drama), said the Police are too busy dealing with such things as the huge number of domestic violence complaints.

All thi8s talk about women and drama, it makes me realize that this has only come to the fore with women being encouraged to be narcissistic.
While women have been acting in concert for decades, It ‘s time for men to do as much. Collectively, we have to start walking away from this foolishness.

Historically speaking ‘collectively’ and ‘men’ and ‘SMP/MMP’ haven’t really got on well, Fuzzy. However, 25% of men (made up number) leaving the marriage marketplace will give women one hell of a problem (4 women to every 3 men willing to commit, kind of thing – again, rough numbers). YOU don’t need to be in the 25% to benefit. Nobody gets to call the 75% ‘traitors’, though the more GTOW the faster the progress.
I find it easy to GMOW, but I won’t shame a brother for doing what he has to do. I merely try to make him aware of the realities, then let him choose his own path. I think you’ll find my path rather painful, but I’d rather someone closer to your reality talks about things you might consider.
